ԵԱՏՄ երկների ինտեգրացիոն գործընթացը իրենից ենթադրում է այս կամ այն ոլորտում հավասար և նույնանման պայմանների ստեղծում: Ինտեգրացիան իր մեջ ներառում է բազմաթիվ գործընթացներ, որոնցից մեկը միասնական արժույթին անցում կատարելն է, ինչպես եղել է օրինակ ԵՄ-ում:
Իհարկե ԵԱՏՄ-ի համար դեռ վաղ է խոսել միասնական արժույթի անցնելու մասին, բայց վերջերս Լեոնիդ Սլուցկին հայտարարել էր. «Եվրասիական տնտեսական միության միասնական արժույթի շուրջ աշխատանքները դժվարությամբ, բայց առաջ են գնում»: Իսկ Արթուր Ջավադյանն ավելի վաղ ասել էր, որ միասնական արժույթին անցնելու հարցը տասնամյակներ է պահանջում:
Առաջին հայացքից կարող է տպավորություն ստեղծվել, որ այս երկու հայտարարությունները հակասում են միմյանց, բայց եթե ուշադիր լինենք, Սլուցկին խոսում է միասնական հաշվարկային միավորի, այլ ոչ թե միասնական արժույթի մասին: Այս մասին այսօր լրագրողների հետ զրույցում նշել էր նաև ՀՀ ԿԲ նախագահ Արթուր Ջավադյանը, ով մասնավորապես ասել էր.
«Նա միասնական արժույթի մասին չի խոսել, խոսել է հաշվարկային արժույթի մասին, որ հաշվարկներն իրականացվեն մեկ արժույթով: Դա կարող է լինել ԱՄՆ դոլարը, եվրոն կամ հաշվարկների այլ արժույթ: Միասնական արժույթը այլ է: «Եվրազ»-ը հաշվարկային միավոր է, որը վիճակագրության համար է օգտագործվելու: Արժույթ չի, հաշվարկային միավոր է: Սրա մասին է խոսքը»:
