Հայաստանը դուրս է մնացել Հարավային Կովկասի էներգետիկ նախագծերից. դա անապահովության զգացում է առաջ բերում, եւ հենց դա է խախտում կայունությունը։ Այս մասին Երեւանում հունիսի 20-ին՝ ՆԱՏՕ-ի Խորհրդարանական վեհաժողովի 89-րդ ֆորումի 3-րդ օրը, հայտարարեց Լոնդոնի Թագավորական քոլեջի փորձագետ Թրեյսի Ջերմանը։

Նրա խոսքով՝ էներգետիկ անվտանգությունն ուղղակիորեն կապ ունի պետական անվտանգության հետ։ Նավթի եւ գազի մատակարարումների խախտումները կարող սպառնալ  ազգային անվտանգությանը։ «Շատ կարեւոր է դիվերսիֆիկացնել էներգիայի աղբյուրները։ Ուսումնասիրելով Եվրոպայի անվտանգության հարցում Հարավային Կովկասի դերը՝ անհրաժեշտ է նշել, որ Հարավային Կովկասը աշխարհում գազի ամենախոշոր շուկաներից է։ Եվրամիությունը գերագնահատել է ինչպես իր էներգետիկ, այնպես էլ արտաքին քաղաքականությունը՝ փորձելով դիվերսիֆիկացնել էներգառեսուրսների  աղբյուրները»,- ասաց Թրեյսի Ջերմանը։

Նրա կարծիքով՝ անհանգստությունը պայմանավորված է այն հանգամանքով, որ Ռուսաստանի հետ շատ հույսեր էին կապվել։ «ԵՄ պլանավորված՝ բնական գազ մատակարարելու միջանցքը նախատեսում է ընդլայնել գազամուղը Թուրքիայի տարածքով, Ադրիատիկ ծովով դեպի Իտալիա։ Վերջին ժամանակներս խոսում են Ռուսաստանից Սեւ ծովի հատակով Թուրքիա գազ մատակարարելու նախագծերի մասին, սակայն ամեն բան դեռ անորոշ է։ Կարեւոր է, որ այդ ենթակառուցվածքները կապում են Հարավային Կովկասը Եվրոպայի հետ, բացի այդ, կապում են նաեւ պետությունները եւ պետությունների միջեւ համագործակցություն են պահանջում նման գազամուղեր կառուցելու համար։ Այդ համակարգը նշանակում է, որ օգուտը կարելի է կիսել հարեւանների հետ, որոնք նման ռեսուրսներ չունեն»,- հավելեց Թրեյսի Ջերմանը։
