Սանկտ Պետերբուրգում մահացել է Նոբելյան մրցանակի դափնեկիր, ակադեմիկոս Ժորես Ալֆյորովը: РИА Новости-ի փոխանցմամբ՝ այս մասին հայտնել է գիտնականի կինը՝ Թամարան:

Գիտնականն 88 տարեկան էր: Մահվան պատճառը սուր սիրտ-թոքային անբավարարությունն էր: Սանկտ Պետերբուրգի ՌԳԱ գիտական կենտրոնից հայտնել են, որ հուղարկավորությունը կկայանա մարտի 5-ին: Նույն օրը կենտրոնում տեղի կունենա վերջին հրաժեշտի արարողությունը:

Նշվում է, որ նոյեմբերի վերջին ֆիզիկոսը հիվանդանոց էր տեղափոխվել, երբ ինքնազգացողությունը վատթարացել էր Ռուսաստանի գիտությունների ակադեմիայի նիստի ժամանակ: Նախապես հաղորդվում էր ուղեղի կաթվածի մասին, սակայն ավելի ուշ պարզաբանել էին, որ նրա մոտ հիպերտոնիկ ճգնաժամ էր:

Գիտնականը զբաղվել է կիսահաղորդչային և միկրոէլեկտրոնային բաղադրիչների ստեղծմամբ, ինչի համար էլ 2000 թվականին արժանացել է Նոբելյան մրցանակի:
