Փետրվարի 24-ին Ն.Ս.Օ.Տ.Տ. Գարեգին Երկրորդ Ծայրագույն Պատրիարք եւ Ամենայն Հայոց Կաթողիկոսը Մայր Աթոռ Սուրբ Էջմիածնում ընդունեց ճանաչողական այցով Հայաստան ժամանած Կանադայի ԶՈՒ հոգեւոր առաջնորդ Գիյ վարդապետ Չափտլեյնիին՝ ուղեկցությամբ Կանադայի հայոց թեմի առաջնորդ Գերաշնորհ Տ. Աբգար եպիսկոպոս Հովակիմյանի եւ ՀՀ ԶՈՒ հոգեւոր առաջնորդ Գերաշնորհ Տ. Վրթանես եպիսկոպոս Աբրահամյանի: 

Զրույցի ընթացքում Վեհափառ Հայրապետը գոհունակությամբ ողջունեց երկու երկրների Զինված ուժերի հոգեւոր առաջնորդների փոխգործակցությունը՝ այն կարեւոր եւ օգտակար նկատելով փորձի փոխանակման եւ բանակում հոգեւորականների ծառայությունն առավել արդյունավետ դարձնելու տեսանկյունից:

Ամենայն Հայոց Կաթողիկոսը նաեւ անդրադարձ կատարեց Հայոց բանակի հոգեւոր առաջնորդության գործունեությանը եւ եկեղեցականների ծառայությանը` ընդգծելով, որ այն կարեւոր դերակատարություն ունի: Նորին Սրբությունը փաստեց, որ հայ ժողովրդի պատմության ընթացքում Հայ Եկեղեցին ու նրա սպասավորները մշտապես կանգնած են եղել հայ զինվորականի կողքին՝ միասնաբար պայքարելով հայ ժողովրդի ազատության եւ հայոց անկախ պետականության կերտման ու պաշտպանության համար:

Կանադայի ԶՈՒ առաջնորդը եւս իր այցը Հայաստան լավագույն առիթ նկատեց Հայոց բանակի հոգեւոր առաջնորդության հետ կիսվելու զորամասերում հոգեւոր ծառայության իրականացման փորձով եւ ոլորտին առնչվող համապատասխան գիտելիքներով: Վարդապետ Չափտլեյնին եւս կարեւորեց հոգեւորականի՝ զինվարականի կողքին լինելը, հատկապես դժվարին պայմաններում:

Վերջում Ամենայն Հայոց Կաթողիկոսը, օրհնելով Կանադայի ԶՈՒ հոգեւոր առաջնորդին, նրան մաղթեց Աստծո օգնականությունը սրբազան եւ պատասխանատու առաքելության մեջ:
