Փետրվարի 8-ին ՀՀ պաշտպանության նախարար Դավիթ Տոնոյանը հանդիպել է ՌԴ պաշտպանության նախարար, բանակի գեներալ Սերգեյ Շոյգուի հետ:

ՌԴ պաշտպանության նախարարը շնորհավորել է Դավիթ Տոնոյանին ՀՀ պաշտպանության նախարարի պաշտոնն ստանձնելու կապակցությամբ և ընդգծել, որ Հայաստանը Ռուսաստանի հուսալի դաշնակիցն ու կարևոր գործընկերն է Հարավային Կովկասում:

ՌԴ պաշտպանության նախարարը շնորհակալություն է հայտնել Դավիթ Տոնոյանին` Սիրիային մարդասիրական աջակցության համար, նշելով, որ Հայաստանն առաջինն է արձագանքել արաբական պետության խաղաղ քաղաքացիներին աջակցելու ՌԴ կոչին:

ՀՀ պաշտպանության նախարար Դավիթ Տոնոյանն իր հերթին շնորհակալություն է հայտնել ռուսաստանյան կողմին Սիրիային տրամադրվող մարդասիրական օգնության հարցում համագործակցության համար: Դավիթ Տոնոյանը նշել է, որ Ռուսաստանի գործողությունները Սիրիայում նպաստում են հետպատերազմյան վերականգնմանը և կարևորել Հայաստանի մասնակցությունը մարդասիրական գործողությանը: «Կարևոր է մեր աջակցությունը սիրիացի ժողովրդին, որի մի մասն է հայկական սփյուռքը», - ասել է Դավիթ Տոնոյանը:

Հանդիպման ընթացքում ՀՀ և ՌԴ պաշտպանական գերատեսչությունների ղեկավարները քննարկել են ռազմական և ռազմատեխնիկական համագործակցության հարցերի լայն շրջանակ, այդ թվում` ՀՀ զինված ուժերի կանխարգելիչ գերակայությունն ապահովող նորագույն և ճշգրիտ զինատեսակներով համալրելու հետ կապված հարցեր: Քննարկվել են նաև մարտական պատրաստության մակարդակի բաձրացմանն ուղղված համատեղ պլանները: Ընդգծելով, որ հայ-ռուսական երկկողմ ռազմական և ռազմատեխնիկական համագործակցությունը բարձր մակարդակի վրա է, կողմերը համոզմունք են հայտնել, որ ռազմավարական դաշնակցային հարաբերությունները կշարունակեն զարգանալ:
