«Իշխող, նոր ձևավորվող խմբավորումը ժողովրդից ստացել է այն ամենը, ինչը հնարավոր էր ստանալ` վստահություն, իշխանություն և ձայներ: Այլևս ստանալու ոչինչ չունի, գոնե մոտակա 5 տարում (իրենց կարծիքով): Հիմա նրանք այլ խնդիր են լուծում: "Թիմը" իշխանության է եկել Նիկոլի ցուցակով և դրա համար պարտական է նրան, սակայն այլևս Նիկոլն է նրանց պարտական լինելու իշխանությունը 5 տարի պահելու համար: Նիկոլը համաժողովրդական ընտրությամբ ընտրված նախագահ չէ` ընդամենը վարչապետ է և ցանկացած պահ կարող է այդ աթոռը կորցնել: Կորցնելով ժողովրդի վստահությունը, նա մնում է խորհրդարանի կոճակների հույսին և այդ ժամանակ ամեն մի "կոճակ" իրեն իրական իշխանություն կզգա և քանի որ գործող իշխանությունն ապագաղափարական և ապաքաղաքական է, ապա նրանց պետք է մի բան միավորի և այդ միավորող բանը անձնական շահն է: "Կոճակներից" բացի Նիկոլը փոխկապակցված է կառավարության ապարատի հետ, որը կարող է իրեն աջակցել, կարող է և սաբոտաժի ենթարկել, ինչը պատահեց Սերժ Սարգսյանի հետ: Այդ դասը Նիկոլը լավ գիտի:
