Սպորտն ու նրա ստվերային կողմերը՝ հին դարերից սկսյալ

Պրոֆեսիոնալ սպորտը զարգացել է վերջին դարերում, այն արդեն և՛ բիզնես է, և՛ տնտեսության ճյուղ:
Իրականում այնքան էլ այդպես չէ:
Պարզվում է, որ պրոֆեսիոնալ սպորտը եղել է և նախկինում, ընդ որում՝ այն ժամանակ էլ են այդ ոլորտում փողերի ու միջոցների հսկայական շրջանառություններ եղել: Դրանք եղել են օլիմպիական խաղերի ժամանակ Հին Հունաստանում և Հռոմում: Կարծիք կա, թե այն հին ժամանակներում մրցումներն անցնում էին անշահախնդրության և ազատ մրցակցության պայմաններում, և երիտասարդ մարզիկները ցուցադրում էին իրենց ուժը և ճարպկությունը: Ազատ մրցակցություն գուցե եղել է, բայց այն ժամանակ այնպիսի միջոցներ են շրջանառվել, որ հազիվ թե հնարավոր էր անազնիվ պայքարից խուսափել: Օլիմպիադայում հաղթողներին ոչ միայն ձիթենու պսակ էին տալիս և արձանը կանգնեցնում, այլ նաև միանվագ պարգևատրում էին ու նշանակում ցմահ թոշակ, կամ ցմահ ազատում հարկերից: Հայտնի է, որ Հին Աթենքի բարձրագույն պաշտոնյա հանդիսացող Սոլոնը յուրաքանչյուր օլիմպիական չեմպիոնի՝ իր քաղաքի բյուջեից վճարում էր 500 դրախմ (սա համարժեք է աթենացի զինվորի երկու տարվա աշխատավարձին): Ինչպես տեսնում ենք, բավականին շահավետ է եղել և է՝ լինել լավ մարզիկ: Իտալիայի հարավում մի դամբարանում հուղարկավորվածի ոսկորների հետ հնէաբանները հայտնաբերել են ձիթայուղով սափորներ: Ըստ նրանց, դա օլիմպիական չեմպիոնի դամբարան է, իսկ սափորները նրա մրցումների արդյունքում ձեռք բերած պարգևներն են: Հայտնի է, որ վազքի մրցման ժամանակ հաղթողին տրվել է այդպիսի 100 սափոր, կամ 1000 լիտր ձիթայուղ (ներկայիս հաշվարկներով, դրա արժեքը մոտավորապես 100 000 դոլար է):
Պատմաբանները համոզված են, որ դեռևս մեր թվարկությունից առաջ 4–րդ դարում Հունաստանում կային պրոֆեսիոնալ մարզիկներ, որոնք պարապում էին ամբողջ օրը: Կային նաև հատուկ դիետաներ և մարզիչների ու օգնականների հաստիքներ: Հաշվի առնենք այն, որ մարզիկի՝ օլիմպիադայում հաղթանակը պետք էր ոչ միայն իրեն՝ մարզիկին, այլ նաև համապատասխան քաղաքին կամ պետությանը, որը ուղարկել է նրան:
Այստեղից էլ պարզ է, որ ծաղկում էր նաև «աստղերի վաճառքը»՝ տրանսֆերը: Ընդ որում, այդ համակարգն այն աստիճան էր տարածված, որ անգամ դատավորները չէին կարողանում ոչինչ անել: Իհարկե, չմոռանանք, որ այս պայմաններում արդեն իսկ դատավորների անկաշառության մեջ դժվար է համոզված լինել: Ի դեպ, խաղերի կանոնների պահպանմանը հետևում էին 10 գլխավոր դատավորները և, այսպես կոչված, էլլանոդիկները: Ամենատարածված խախտումը հակառակորդներին կաշառելն էր: Նա, ով բռնվում էր այդ գործում, խիստ պատժվում էր (ի դեպ, և՛ կաշառք տվողը, և՛ վերցնողը): Ընդ որում, պատժում էին անգամ տեղում՝ մտրակահարելով: Օրինակ, թեսալացի Էվպոլոմը օլիմպիական խաղերի ժամանակ բռնցքամարտի մրցումներում որոշակի գումար էր տվել իր երեք հակառակորդներին, որ նրանք պարտվեն: Արդյունքում չորսին էլ այդ ամենի համար պատժել են:
Համարվում է, որ օլիմպիական խաղերը դադարեցվել են քրիստոնեության տարածման հետ կապված՝ 3–4–րդ դարերում, քանի որ քրիստոնյաները փորձում էին մոռացության տալ հեթանոսական բոլոր սովորությունները: Բայց կա ևս մի կարծիք, որ այն ժամանակ այդ խաղերը այնքան էին այլասերվել, որ անհնար էր դրանք շարունակել: Թեպետ համարյա նույն վիճակն է նկատվում մեր ժամանակակից սպորտում՝ երևի մի քիչ ավելի «զարգացած» տեսքով:
