Վրաստանի նախագահը շնորհավորել է հայերին Սուրբ Ծննդյան եւ Տիրոջ Մկրտության առիթով
INTERNATIONAL NEWSՎրաստանի նախագահը մաղթել է բարեկացություն եւ ուրախություն, եւ նշել է, որ հայ եւ վրաց ազգերի բազմադարյան ընկերությունը հիմնված է սիրո եւ փոխըմբռնման վրա, որն իսկապես օրինակելի է: Հայ Առաքելական եկեղեցին քրիստոնեական եկեղեցիներից միակն է, որը նշում է Սուրբ Ծննդյան տոնը Մկրտության հետ միաժամանակ հունվարի 6-ին «Հայտնություն» անվանմամբ:
Արեւելյան եւ Արեւմտյան Եկեղեցիներում մինչեւ IV դարը Սուրբ Ծնունդը, որը միավորվում էր Մկրտության տոնի հետ, տոնում էին հունվարի 6-ին: Սակայն նույնիսկ քրիստոեությունն ընդունելուց հետո հեթանոսությունը չի զիջել իր դիրքերը: Մեծ խանդավառությամբ էր տոնվում արեւի պաշտամունքի օրը դեկտեմբերի 25-ին:
Հեթանոսական սովորույթները վերացնելու համար Սուրբ Ծնունդը Մկրտությունից առանձնացրել են IV դարում եւ տեղափոխել են դեկտեմբերի 25-ին: Այդ ժամանակվանից ի վեր՝ քրիստոնյաները նշում են Սուրբ Ծնունդը դեկտեմբերի 25-ին, այդ թվում նաեւ ուղղափառ եկեղեցին, սակայն հին ոճով, այսինքն՝ հունվարի 7-ին:
