Կաղամբն անվանում են դեղատուփ կամ բժիշկ, քանի որ այն դարման է հազար ու մի հիվանդության

Կաղամբն արագացնում է նյութափոխանակությունը, բուժում է պզուկները, խայթոցները, էկզեման, ցանը, փսորիազը, ոտքի խոցերը: Վիտամին С-ի բարձր պարունակության շնորհիվ դանդաղեցնում է ծերացման գործընթացը:
Կաղամբը հանում է գլխացավը: Պետք է գլխին կաղամբի տերևներով կոմպրես դնել:
Հոդերում և ծնկներում ցավից ազատվելու համար կաղամբի տերևը տաքացնել միկրոալիքային վառարանում կամ վառարանի մոտ , վրան քսել մեղրի բարակ շերտ և դնել ցավող հատվածի վրա: Ամրացնել բինտով և փաթաթել տաք շարֆով:
Հազը բուժելու համար կաղամբի տերևը 1-2 պահել եռացող ջրի մեջ, այնուհետև վրան մեղր քսել և դնել կրծքավանդակին (ուժեղ հազի դեպքում նաև՝ մեջքին): Մի քանի օր կրկնել և հազը լիովին կանցնի:
Դանդաղ նյութափոխանակութթյունն արագացնելու համար խորհուրդ է տրվում խմել կաղամբի տերևների թուրմ՝ առանց աղի, շաքարավազի և մեղրի: Տերևները եփել 10 րոպե, քամել և խմել տաք վիճակում 150 մլ ուտելուց 20 րոպե առաջ:
Երակների վարիկոզ լայնացման դեպքում կաղամբի թարմ տերևը գրտնակել, մի երեսին քսել բուսայող և այդ կողմով դնել ախտահարված հատվածի վրա: Բուժման տևողությունը՝ մեկ ամիս:
Պզուկներից ազատվելու համար կօգնի կաղամբի հյութից պատրաստված դիմակը: Հյութը սնում է մաշկը, ապահովելով բոլոր անհրաժեշտ վիտամիններով, ընդ որում պզուկները չորանում են անմիջապես: Կաղամբի տերևները դեմքին պահել 20 րոպե, այնուհետև դեմքը լվանալ տաք ջրով և քսել հարթեցնող կրեմ:
