ԱՄՆ նախագահ Բարաք Օբաման դարձել է առաջին գործող նախագահը, որը հայտնվել է սեռական փոքրամասնությունների համար ամսագրի շապիկին: Նրա լուսանկարը հրապարակվել է OUT ամսագրի շապիկին, որը մասնագիտացած է գեյ նորաձևության և գեյ ոճի մեջ, գրում է The Washington Times-ը:
Օբամայի նկարի տակ գրված է. «Մեր նախագահը», իսկ ներքևում երեք բառ՝ «Դաշնակից, հերոս, սրբապատկեր» (Ally. Hero. Icon)
Ամսագիրը սա «պատմական տարվա պատմական պահ» է համարել, հաշվի առնելով, որ հենց 2015-ին է ԱՄՆ գերագույն դատարանը որոշել, որ նույնասեռ ամուսնություններն օրինական են երկրի ողջ տարածքում:
Օբաման հայտարարել է, որ ինքը նախագահ է դարձել նաև այն պատճառով, որպեսզի «կատարի խոստումները, որ մենք բոլորս հավասար ենք ստեղծվել, և ոչ ոք չպետք է հեռու մնա ամերիկյան երազանքից միայն այն պատճառով, թե ով է ինքն իրականում»:
