Բրիտանական Daily Mail պարբերականն ուշագրավ ֆոտոշարքով անդրադարձել է ԱՄՆ Ալյասկա նահանգում տեղի ունեցած 6.6 մագնիտուդ հզորությամբ երկրաշարժին:

Զոհերի և տուժածների մասին տեղեկություններ առայժմ չեն հաղորդվում: Նահանգի ամենախոշոր՝ Անքորիջ քաղաքում, որի մոտ նկատվել են ամենաուժեղ ցնցումները, ոստիկանությունն արգելափակել է մի շարք ճանապարհներ և փողոցներ, վնասվել են տներ: Քաղաքի բոլոր դպրոցները փակ կմնան մինչև երեքշաբթի, Trans-Alaska նավթամուղի աշխատանքը դադարեցվել է:

Երկրաշարժը լուրջ ավերածությունների պատճառ է դարձել:

ԱՄՆ Երկրաբանական ծառայության տվյալներով՝ ստորգետնյա ցնցումների էպիկենտրոնը գտնվել է նահանգի Անկորիջ խոշորագույն քաղաքից 12 կմ հեռավորությամբ:Երկրաշարժի օջախը գտնվել է 35.5 կմ խորությամբ: Տուժածների և ավերածությունների մասին դեռևս տեղեկություն չկա:

ԱՄՆ նախագահ Դոնալդ Թրամփն երկրաշարժից հետո նահանգում արտակարգ դրության դաշնային ռեժիմ է հայտարարել: Բացի այդ, ԱՄՆ նախագահը խոստացել է դաշնային աջակցություն ցուցաբերել նահանգին:
