Այսօր ամենահայտնի սոցցանցերից է Ինստագրամը: Եթե երկու տարի առաջ միայն ապահովված ընտանիքների երիտասարդները կարող էին իրենց թույլ տալ սմարթֆոն ունենալ, ապա այսօր յուրաքանչյուրը կարող է դառնալ Ինստագրամի աստղ: Որպեսզի ուրշների վրա տպավորություն գործեն, մարդիկ ընկնում են ծայրահեղությունների մեջ, և Ինտագրամ-ֆիլտրի օգնությամբ ստեղծում են իդեալական նկարներ, որոնք շատ հեռու են իրականությունից:

Այս 18-ամյա ավստրալացի փառամոլ աղջիկը՝ Էսսենա Օ’Նիլը, գրավել է Ինստագրամը մինչ նրա մեյնստրիմ դառնալը: Պարզվում է, որ դեռ դպրոցական նստարանին նստած, Էսսենան սկսել էր վարել անձնական բլոգ: Այդ ժամանակ նույնիսկ սեփական ալիք ուներ You Tube-ում:

Ամեն ինչ այնպես արագ էր տեղի ունենում, որ աղջիկը չնկատեց, թե ինչպես այդքան խորը տարվեց սոցցանցերով:

Էսսենան խոստովանում է. «Ես սիրահարված էի այն մտքին, որ կարող եմ ինչ-որ մեկին օգտակար լինեմ, և ես ուզում էի դուր գալ ուրիշներին»:

Էսսենային սկսեցին դիմել գովազդատուները: Թվում էր, թե այս աղջիկն ունի ամեն ինչ: Բայց Օ’Նիլի խոսքերով՝ ինքը երջանիկ չէր:

Ինչ-որ պահ գեղեցկուհուն այս ամենը ձանձրացրեց, և նա որոշեց վերանայել իր արժեքները:

«Ես կախված էի ուրիշների կարծիքից: Ինձ թվում էր, որ նկարներս հավանողների և տարածողների քանակը վկայում է այն մասին, թե որքան լավ են ինձ վերաբերվում մարդիկ: Ես չնկատեցի, թե ինչպես է սոցցանցն ամբողջովին իշխում իմ կյանքը: Ես չէի պատկերացնում իմ կյանքն առանց այդ ամենի»,- ասում է Օ’Նիլը:

Էսսենան արդեն ջնջել է իր էջերը, և պատրաստվում է դադարել You Tube-ում տեսանյութեր հրապարակելը:

Նա ասում է. «Ես չեմ ուզում, որ իմ հասակակիցները մտածեն, որ իդեալական կյանք է, որը պետք է նրանց ոգեշնչի և քաջալերի: Այն ինչ ես արել եմ, ունեցել է մեկ նպատակ՝ ուշադրություն գրավել»:

Օ’Նիլը ստիպված էր լինում մի քանի ժամ վատնել, որպեսզի հիասքանչ սելֆի աներ, որոնք բոլորին խելքահան կանեին:
