ԱՄՆ-ի նախագահ Բարաք Օբաման եւ Իսրայելի վարչապետ Բենիամին Նաթանյահուն Վաշինգտոնում կայացած հանդիպմանը համաձայնել են բարելավել երկու երկրների միջեւ խաթարված հարաբերությունները, տեղեկացնում է «Արմենպրես»-ը՝ հղում անելով BBC-ին:

Վերջին ամիսներին քաղաքական գործիչների միջեւ ի հայտ էին եկել բազմաթիվ տարաձայնություններ: Օբաման չէր թաքցնում, որ չի պաշտպանում իրանական միջուկային ծրագրի վերաբերյալ Նաթանյահուի հայացքները:

Ընդսմին ԱՄՆ-ի նախագահն ասել է, որ Իսրայելի անվտանգությունը մնում է ԱՄՆ-ի արտաքին քաղաքականության գերակա ուղղություններից մեկը:

Երկու երկրները ռազմական գործարք են կնքել 30 մլրդ դոլարի չափով:

Իսրայելի վարչապետն ընդգծել է, որ պատրաստ է ընթանալ երկու պետությունների ստեղծման ճանապարհով եւ երկխոսություն վարել պաղեստինյան վարչակազմի հետ:

Ինչպես նշում են Սպիտակ տանը, Օբաման չի ակնկալում, որ Մերձավոր Արեւելքում հակամարտող կողմերի միջեւ հաշտության համաձայնագիր կստորագրվի նախքան իր նախագահական ժամկետի լրանալը, սակայն ԱՄՆ-ի նախագահը հույս է հայտնել, որ Նաթանյահուն չի վարանի վերադառնալ պաղեստինցիների հետ բանակցությունների վերսկսմանը:

Հոկտեմբերին իսրայելցիների եւ պաղեստինցիների հարաբերությունները մթագնել էին իսրայելացիների վրա արաբների մի շարք զինված հարձակումներով, որոնց հետեւանքով երկուստեք սպանվել կամ վիրավորվել են տասնյակ մարդիկ:
