POLITICSԱՄՆ նախագահի անվտանգության հարցերով խորհրդական Ջոն Բոլթոնի հայտարարություններից շատ արագ հետևություններ պետք չէ անել: Այս մասին, այսօր՝ նոյեմբերի 9-ին, լրագրողների հետ զրույցում նշել է ՀՀ նախագահ Արմեն Սարգսյանը:
Հարցին,թ ե ինչ տպավորություն է ստացել Բոլթոնի ոչ դիվանագիտական հարաբերություններից, նաեւ ամերիկյան պատժամիջոցներն Իրանի նկատմամբ ինչ իրավիճակ կստեղծեն տարածաշրջանում այդ թվում Հայաստանի համար, Արմեն Սարգսյանը պատասխանել է. «Ես չեմ կարծում, որ հետեւությունները պետք է արվեն այս կամ այն հայտարարություններից ելնելով, որովհետեւ քաղաքականությունը, լինի դա ներքին քաղաքականություն, արտաքին, մանավանդ տարածաշրջանային քաղաքականությունը դինամիկ պրոցես է:
Խոսքը ոչ միայն Հայաստան-ԱՄՆ հարաբերությունների մասին է, այլ ԱՄՆ-ռեգիոն հարաբերությունների մասին: Իսկ ռեգիոնը շատ ավելի մեծ է, ոչ միայն մեր հարեւաններն են եւ Իրանը, այլեւ ԱՄՆ-Եվրոպա, ԱՄՆ-Ռուսաստան հարաբերությունները:
Անձնապես ես պարոն Բոլթոնին չեմ հանդիպել, որովհետեւ այդ ժամանակ ես Հայաստանում չէի, ԱՄՆ-ում էի, բայց ես կարծում եմ եւ խորհուրդ եմ տալիս՝ շատ արագ հետեություններ չանել: Պրոցեսներն իրենք արագ են, փոփոխական եւ պետք է սպասել, տենսնեք մոտակա ժամանակաշրջանում ինչպիսին կլինի ԱՄՆ-ի իրական քաղաքականությունը ռեգիոնում»:
Ավելի վաղ NEWS.am-ը հայտնել էր, որ Երեւանում Ջոն Բոլթոնը կոչ էր արել Հայաստանին հրաժարվել «պատմական կաղապարներից», նաեւ ընդգծել, որ ԱԺ ընտրություններից հետո ՀՀ վարչապետը ԼՂ հարցում կարող է առաջնորդություն ստանձնել:
Անդրադառնալով Իրանի թեմային, Բոլթոնն ասել էր. «Մեզ մտահոգում են Իրանի բալիստիկ հրթիռային ծրագրերը եւ Սիրիայում, Իրաքում ու այլուր նրա ակտիվ ռազմական գործողությունները: Ակնհայտ է, որ մենք չենք ուզում վնաս հասցնել մեր բարեկամներին այս գործընթացում: Ուստի կարծում եմ, որ Հայաստանի եւ ԱՄՆ կառավարությունների միջեւ զրույցը շատ կարեւոր կլինի: Սակայն, ինչպես ընդգծեցի վարչապետի հետ զրույցում, մենք մտադիր ենք ողջ ուժով կիրառել այս պատժամիջոցները: Սա Օբամայի վարչակազմը չէ: Մենք մտադիր ենք սեղմել Իրանի շուրջ օղակը»:
