Ռուսաստանի Դաշնության արտաքին գործերի նախարար Սերգեյ Լավրովն իսպանական «El Pais» թերթին տված հարցազրույցում հայտարարել է, որ հակառուսական պատժամիջոցների պատճառով Եվրամիությունը, որոշ տվյալների համաձայն, ավելի քան 100 միլիարդ եվրո է կորցրել: Միևնույն ժամանակ նախարարն ընդգծել է, թե որ դեպքում է Ռուսաստանը պատրաստ չեղարկել ԵՄ-ի նկատմամբ սահմանած իր պատժամիջոցները:

ՌԴ ԱԳՆ ղեկավարի խոսքով՝ շատ կարևոր է, որ եվրոպացի քաղաքական գործիչներն իրենք հասկանան սեփական կորուստները: «Պատժամիջոցների պատճառով Եվրամիության կրած կորուստների վերաբերյալ տվյալները տարբեր են, և դրանցից որոշների համաձայն՝ խոսքը 100 միլիարդ եվորն զգալիորեն գերազանցող գումարի մասին է», - հայտարարել է Լավրովը՝ հավելելով, որ «անհեռատեսական» հակառուսական պատժամիջոցնեը սահմանվել են «Վաշինգտոնի անմիջական հրահանգով», սակայն ամերիկացիներն այդ քալից վնաս չեն կրում:

Միևնույն ժամանակ ՌԴ արտգործնախարարը նշել է, որ Ռուսաստանի Դաշնությունը պատրաստ է չեղարկել ԵՄ-ի նկատմամբ սահմանած պատժամիջոցները, եթե եվրոպական կողմը նույնպես նման քայլի դիմի:

Լավրովը հիշեցրել է,որ ռուսական կողմը «բազմիցս» հայտարարել է պատժամիջոցները չեղարկելու պատրաստակամության մասին, սակայն «այս ուղղությամբ առաջին քայլը պետք է անի հենց ԵՄ-ն»: Նախարարը ևս մեկ անգամ ընդգծել է, որ պատժամիջոցները ձեռնտու չեն ինչպես ռուսական կողմին, այնպես էլ ԵՄ-ին, ուստի ինքը հուսով է, որ «ի վերջո այս հարցում կհաղթի ողջամտությունը»:
