Հայաստանի Հանրապետության վարչապետի պաշտոնակատար Նիկոլ Փաշինյանը ԱՄՆ նախագահ Դոնալդ Թրամփի ազգային անվտանգության հարցերով խորհրդական Ջոն Բոլթոնի և իր հանդիպումը համարում է դիվանագիտական խոշոր նվաճում:

Ինչպես հաղորդում է «Արմենպրես»-ը, Նիկոլ Փաշինյանը նման հայտարարությամբ հանդես եկավ Ազգային ժողովում վարչապետի ընտրության հարցի քննարկման ժամանակ ունեցած եզրափակիչ ելույթի ընթացքում՝ անդրադառնալով Ջոն Բոլթոնի՝ Հայաստան կատարած այցի շուրջ հնչող  տարաբնույթ  մեկնաբանություններին: «Ես հանդիպել եմ Բոլթոնի հետ, այդ հանդիպման ընթացքում նույնիսկ նվազագույն նյուանս չի եղել, որ Հայաստանում և հայ ժողովրդի շրջանում անհանգստություն պետք է առաջացնի: Ես այս հանդիպումը համարում եմ մեզ համար խոշոր դիվանագիտական նվաճում, հետագայում կասեմ, թե ինչն է պատճառը, որ ես այսպես եմ ասում»,- ասաց Փաշինյանը:

Փաշինյանը հավաստիացրեց, որ այդ հանդիպմանը ընթացքի բովանդակությունը որևէ կապ չունի այն մտահոգությունների հետ, որոնք հնչում են հայկական իրականության մեջ:

Հայաստանի Հանրապետության վարչապետի պաշտոնակատար Նիկոլ Փաշինյանը հոկտեմբերի 25-ին  ընդունել է ԱՄՆ նախագահի Ազգային անվտանգության հարցերով խորհրդական Ջոն Բոլթոնի գլխավորած պատվիրակությանը: Հանդիպման ընթացքում զրուցակիցները քննարկել են երկու երկրների հարաբերությունների օրակարգային մի շարք հարցեր: Մասնավորապես, կողմերն անդադարձել են մեր երկրում ժողովրդավարական ինստիտուտների զարգացման, տնտեսության, արդարադատության համակարգի, քաղաքացիական հասարակության զարգացման ուղղություններով համագործակցության ընդլայնմանը և կարևորել երկկողմ փոխգործակցությանը նոր թափ հաղորդելուն միտված հետևողական քայլերի իրականացումը: Այդ առումով, Նիկոլ Փաշինյանը և Ջոն Բոլթոնը ընդգծել են նման բարձր մակարդակի փոխայցելություններն ավելի հաճախակի դարձնելու անհրաժեշտությունը: ՀՀ վարչապետի պաշտոնակատարը և ԱՄՆ նախագահի խորհրդականը մտքեր են փոխանակել Լեռնային Ղարաբաղի հակամարտության կարգավորման գործընթացի շուրջ: Երկուստեք կարևորվել է հիմնախնդրի խաղաղ կարգավորմանն ուղղված հետևողական քայլերի իրականացումը՝ ԵԱՀԿ Մինսկի խմբի համանախագահության ձևաչափի շրջանակում և բանակցային գործընթացի համար համապատասխան մթնոլորտի ձևավորումը: 
Կողմերը քննարկել են նաև միջազգային ասպարեզում, այդ թվում՝ տարածաշրջանում տեղի ունեցող գործընթացներին վերաբերող մի շարք այլ հարցեր:
