SOCIETYՊարոն Բոլթոնի հետ հանդիպման ժամանակ մեր կողմից զենքի ձեռքբերման հարց չի քննարկվել, այդ հարցը բանակցությունների թեմա չի եղել։ Այս մասին «Էխո Մոսկվի»–ին տված հարցազրույցում հայտնել է Ռուսաստանում Հայաստանի արտակարգ եւ լիազոր դեսպան Վարդան Տողանյանը՝ մեկնաբանելով ԱՄՆ նախագահի ազգային անվտանգության հարցերով խորհրդական Ջոն Բոլթոնի հայտարարությունը։
«Բոլթոնը հարցազրույցի ժամանակ խոսել է ԱՄՆ կոնգրեսի կողմից զենքի վաճառքի արգելքը հանելու հնարավորության մասին»,–ասել է դեսպանը՝ նշելով, որ ՀՀ վարչապետի պաշտոնակատար Նիկոլ Փաշինյանը խոսել է միայն շահավետ առաջարկները դիտարկելու պատրաստակամության մասին։
«Առաջին հերթին, առաջարկ չի եղել։ Երկրորդ հերթին, պետք է հաշվի առնել, որ զենքի շուկան մի կողմից սովորական շուկա է, սակայն այստեղ կան որոշ ռազմատեխնիկական իրողություններ։ Մենք այս ոլորտում սերտորեն համագործակցում ենք Ռուսաստանի հետ, մեր զինված ուժերը, սպաները հարմարեցված են ռուսական զենքին, սպասարկմանը եւ մենք ունենք համապատասխան պայմանները»,–նկատել է Տողանյանը։
Նա շեշտել է նաեւ, որ Հայաստանը հնարավորություն ունի զենքը գնել ներռուսաստանյան գներով։ «Արտահանման վարկի մասին պայմանագիր կա, նախորդ տարիներին Հայաստանը օգտվել է 200 մլն դոլար վարկից, այնուհետեւ բացվել է երկրորդ գիծը՝ 100 մն դոլարի համար»։
