INTERNATIONAL NEWSՀինգշաբթի Եթովպիայի խորհրդարանը երկրի նոր նախագահ է ընտրել դիվանագետ Սահլե Վորկ Զեւդեին, որը երկրի պատմության մեջ այս պաշտոնը զբաղեցնող առաջին կինն է, հայտնում է Reuters-ը:
Ավելի վաղ Սահլե Վորկ Զեւդեն աշխատել է ՄԱԿ գլխավոր քարտուղարի աշխատակազմում, ինչպես նաեւ եղել է Աֆրիկական միությանն առընթեր կազմակերպության ղեկավարի հատուկ ներկայացուցիչը: Եթովպիայի նախագահի պաշտոնում նա փոխարինել է Մուլատ Տեշոմեին, որը նախօրեին հրաժարական էր ներկայացրել:
Եթովպիայի Սահմանադրության համաձայն՝ նախագահը պետության ղեկավարն է, սակայն իրական իշխանությունը կենտրոնացված է վարչապետի ձեռքին, որը հենվում է խորհրդարանական մեծամասնության վրա: Նախագահին նույնպես խորհրդարանն է ընտրում, սակայն նա արարողակարգային գործառույթներ է կատարում: Վերջին 5 տարիներին երկիրը ղեկավարող Մուլատ Տեշոմեի հրաժարականը պայմանավորված է բարեփոխումների կուրսով, որը նախաձեռնել է երկրի վարչապետ Աբի Ահմեդը, որը ընթացիկ տարվա ապրիլին այս պաշտոնում փոխարինել է Հայլեմարիամ Դեսալենին:
