Ալկոհոլ և ալկոհոլային խմիչքներ կենդանիները չեն օգտագործում:

Իրականում այդպես չէ:

Հասկանալի է, որ սպիրտ պարունակող հեղուկներ ստեղծել են մարդիկ, բայց դա կարող է առաջանալ նաև բնության մեջ, և որոշ կենդանիներ այն օգտագործում են: Հայտնի է, որ մարդուց հետո ամենախմող կենդանին Մալազիայում բնակվող փետրապոչ տուպայան է (լատիներեն Ptilocercus lowii): 

Փետրապոչ տուպայան մոտավորապես առնետի չափեր ունի՝ երկար փետուրի նման պոչով: Նա մի գիշերվա մեջ օգտագործում է 9 բաժին «բացարձակ սպիրտ» (սա հավասարազոր է 9 բաժին վիսկիի, կամ 5 գավաթ գարեջրի, կամ 5 բաժակ (175 մլ–ոց) գինու) :

Փետրապոչ տուպայայի հիմնական սննդակարգը կազմում է խմորված քաղցր նեկտարը, որը նա գտնում է Բերտամյան արմավենու սրածայր ծաղիկների «բաժակների» մեջ: Խմորված նեկտարը պարունակում է 3,8 % ալկոհոլ, դա հավասարազոր է սովորական բաց գարեջրի թնդությանը: Փետրապոչ տուպայան խմում է այդ հեղուկը մեկ գիշերվա ընթացքում գումարային ամբողջ 2 ժամ: Նրա արյան հետազոտությունը ցույց է տալիս, որ ալկոհոլի պարունակությունն այնքան է, որ կենդանի օրգանիզմը պետք է մահանա: Բայց այդ փոքրիկ կենդանին ոչ միայն չի սատկում, այլև անգամ չի արբում: Եթե արբեր, այն որպես տեսակ վաղուց անհետացած կլիներ, նրան ուղղակի այլ գազանները կուտեին: Էվոլ յուցիայի ընթացքում այս կենդանին ձեռք է բերել ալկոհոլը տրոհելու հատկություն՝ առանց արբելու: Դրանից նա անգամ սկսել է օգուտ քաղել՝ ալկոհոլի տրոհման արդյունքում օրգանիզմին անհրաժեշտ կալորիաներ ստանալով: 

Իհարկե, ալկոհոլից բացի փետրապոչ տուպայան նաև այլ սնունդ է օգտագործում՝ մանր կենդանիներ, միջատներ, մրգեր: Ենթադրվում է, որ օգտագործած ալկոհոլը նրա վրա նույն ազդեցությունն է գործում, ինչ մարդկանց վրա՝ բացում է ախորժակը:

Ալկոհոլի օգտագործումը մարդու կողմից շատ հին պատմություն ունի. ենթադրվում է, որ 9000 տարի առաջ Միջագետքում սկսել են գարեջուր եփել: Ժամանակի ընթացքում փետրապոչ տուպայան մի կերպ «սովորել» է խմելու արդյունքում չհարբել, իսկ մարդը՝ ոչ: Պահպանված ամենահին գործերից մեկում՝ «Գիլգամեշի մասին էպոս» գրական ստեղծագործությունում (4000 տարեկան) պատմվում է, որ տաճարի անառակ քրմուհի Շամխատը վարժեցնում է մազոտ վայրենի Էնկիդին, որը ապրում էր գազանների հետ, և դա կատարում է այսպես՝ նրան մեկ շաբաթով քարշ է տալիս իր անկողին, միաժամանակ անընդհատ գարեջուր խմեցնում: Արդյունքում Էնկիդը վերափոխվում է, սկսում է լվացվել, հագնվում է կյանքում առաջին անգամ, մոռանում է իր ընկեր գազաններին և ձեռք է բերում «իմաստություն»:

Այո: Ինչպես ասվում է՝ ի՞նչը կհաղթի կամ, ավելի ճիշտ, կուղղի հերոսին, թե չլինեն կինն ու գինին..
