Ընթացիկ տարվա օգոստոսի 9-ից մինչև 15-ը Սեյսմիկ պաշտպանության ծառայության (ՍՊԾ) սեյսմոլոգիական ցանցի կողմից գրանցված երկրաշարժերից 30-ի համար որոշվել են օջախի հիմնական պարամետրերը: Ինչպես տեղեկացրին ՀՀ ԱԻՆ «Սեյսմիկ պաշտպանության տարածքային ծառայություն» ՊՈԱԿ-ի Սեյսմիկ անվտանգության դեպարտամենտից, տեղի ունեցած սեյսմիկ իրադարձություններից 4-ը գտնվում է Հայաստանի, 4-ն էլ՝ Արցախի տարածքներում: 3 բալ և ավելի ուժգնությամբ գրանցվել է մեկ երկրաշարժ, որը տեղի է ունեցել օգոստոսի 10-ին, Արցախի Քարվաճառ քաղաքից 18 կմ հյուսիս-արևելք:

Տարածաշրջանում. 3 բալ և ավելի ուժգնությամբ գրանցվել է 10 երկրաշարժ, որից հինգը տեղի է ունեցել օգոստոսի 9-ից 13-ը 3-5 բալ ուժգնությամբ Թուրքիայի Վան քաղաքից 50 կմ շառավղով սահմանափակված տարածքում: Մնացած հինգ երկրաշարժը տեղի է ունեցել Իրանի տարածքում: Օգոստոսի 10-ին և 12-ին 3-4 բալ ուժգնությամբ սեյսմիկ իրադարձություններ են գրանցվել համապատասխանաբար Սալմաս քաղաքից 16 կմ դեպի հյուսիս-արևմուտք և Արդեբիլ քաղաքից 40 կմ հարավ-արևուտք: Մյուս երեք սեյսմիկ իրադարձությունը տեղի է ունեցել օգոստոսի 11-ին և 14-ին 3-5 բալ ուժգնությամբ Խոյ քաղաքից 26 կմ շառավղով սահմանափակված տարածքում:

Տարածաշրջանից դուրս. 6.0 և ավելի մագնիտուդով գրանցվել է հինգ երկրաշարժ: Օգոստոսի 10-ին 6.1 մագնիտուդով երկրաշարժ է տեղի ունեցել Կուրիլյան կղզիների տարածքում: Օգոստոսի 12-ին 6.4 և 6.0 մագնիտուդերով սեյսմիկ իրադարձություններ են տեղի ունեցել Հյուսիսային Ալյասկայում, Պրադխո-Բեյ բնակավայրից 168 կմ շառավղով սահմանափակված տարածքում: Երկրաշարժին հետևել է ավելի քան 236 հետցնցում, որից 2–ը` 5.0 և ավելի մագնիտուդով: Օգոստոսի 14-ին և 15-ին 6.1 և 6.6 մագնիտուդերով երկրաշարժեր են տեղի ունեցել համապատասխանաբար Սանդվիչյան և Ալեուտյան կղզեխմբերի տարածքներում: Նշենք, որ օգոստոսի 5-ին 6.9 մագնիտուդով Ինդոնեզիայի Լոմբոկ կղզու հյուսիսում տեղի ունեցած ավերիչ երկրաշարժի հետևանքով զոհվել են վերջին տվյալներով առնվազն 436 և տարբեր աստիճանի վնասվածքներ են ստացել 1300 մարդ:

Օգոստոսի 12-ին և 13-ին՝ 4.9 և 4.8 մագնիտուդերով երկրաշարժեր են գրանցվել Չինաստանի Յուննան նահանգում, Ջիանգչուան քաղաքից համապատասխանաբար 11 կմ հյուսիս-արևելք և 14 կմ հարավ-արևելք: Երկրաշարժերի հետևանքով վիրավորվել է 24 մարդ, վնասվել ավելի քան 8000 շինություն: Երկու օրվա ընթացքում գրանցվել է ավելի քան 120 ստորգետնյա ցնցում: Տարհանվել է մոտ 33 հազար մարդ:
