Մենք գիտենք, որ...

 

Արևելքից եկել էին երեք մոգեր, որպեսզի երկրպագեն մանուկ Քրիստոսին:

Իրականում այդպես չէ:

Ոչ մի տեղ հին գրքերում և Ավետարաններում երեք մոգ չի նշվում: Նշվում են տարբեր թվեր՝ սկսած քսանից մինչև անգամ երկու: Հայտնի է միայն մեկ բան, որ նրանք երեք նվեր էին բերել: Այդտեղից էլ վեցերորդ դարից սկսած համընդհանուր տարածված կարծիքը, որ մոգերը երեքն են եղել: Ըստ հեղինակներ Ավրելիոս Օգոստինիոսի (354– 430) և Հովհան Ոսկեբերանի (մոտ 347–407), մոգերը տասներկուսն են եղել, նվերները՝ երեքը: Գիտնականների մեծ մասը համաձայն է այն մտքին, որ մոգերը եղել են զրադաշտական կրոնի հոգևորականներ, որոնց կոչել են նաև քրմեր: Քրմերը մեծ հարգանք էին վայելում պալատներում, և  առանց նրանց հետ խորհրդակցելու Արևելքի տիրակալները ոչ մի լուրջ գործ չէին ձեռնարկում։

Ըստ զրադաշտական Յասնա գրքի, մոգերը երեք թագավորներ էին, և նրանց ուղեկցում էր 12 հազարանոց մի զորախումբ։ Թագավորներից առաջինը պարսից Մելքոն թագավորն էր։ Նա սերում էր Աբրահամի Քետուրա հարճից։ Երկրորդը Գասպարն էր՝ հնդիկների թագավորը, իսկ երրորդը արաբների թագավոր Բաղդասարն էր։ Գասպարը նորածին Հիսուսին կնդրուկ, նարդոս, կասիան, կինամոն և այլ անուշահոտ նյութեր ընծայեց։ Բաղդասարը մանկանը ոսկի, արծաթ, թանկարժեք քարեր նվիրեց, իսկ Մելքոնը՝ զմուռս, հալվե, ծիրանի և բեհեզ ընծայեց։ Մոգերի այս նվերները պատահական չէին։ Ոսկի ընծայեցին, քանզի Հիսուսը թագավոր էր, կնդրուկ՝ քանի որ Աստված էր, իսկ զմուռսը խորհրդանշում էր մահը: 

Ըստ Մատթեոսի Ավետարանի, մոգերը եկել են Երուսաղեմ Հիսուսի ծննդից երկու տարի անց։ Ըստ Մատթեոս առաքյալի,մոգերը ապրել են Արևելքում։ Նրանք, երկնքում աստղեր տեսնելով, դա համարել են նշան։ Հետևելով երկնքի աստղերի ընթացքին` նրանք կտրել–անցել են երկրներ և մտել Բեթղեհեմ։ Այնտեղ նրանք գտնում են Մարիամին մանկան հետ, խոնարհվում նրա առջև և մանկանը հանձնում նվերներ։ 

Մի քանի երկրներում կա երեք թագավորների տոն կամ տոն Աստվածահայտնության։ Համաձայն եկեղեցու ծիսակարգի` այդ տոնը կատարվել է Ծննդից 12 օր անց։ Տեքստերից մի քանիսում նշվում է, որ մոգերը հասել են մինչև Բեթղեհեմ Հիսուսի ծննդից մի քանի ամիս անց։ Ներկայումս Անգլիական եկեղեցական սինոդը 2004 թվականին ռևիզիայի է ենթարկել «Ընդանուր աղոթքների գիրքը»՝ որոշելով, որ Հիսուսին այցելողներին պետք է կոչել մոգեր (Magi), այլ ոչ թե իմաստուն այրեր (Three Wise Men), ինչպես առաջ էր: Բացատրությունն այն է , որ առաջին հերթին պարտադիր չէ, որ այցելածները իմաստուն եղած լինեն, երկրորդը, որ այնտեղ կարող էր նաև կին լինել, երրորդը, որ մոգեր ասելով քանակ չի նշվում, այլ նշվում է պարսկական թագավորության պաշտոն:

Բացի մոգերի երկրպագությունը, պարզվում է, որ եղել է Քրիստոսի երկրպագություն հովիվների կողմից: Հովիվների երկրպագությունը նորածին Քրիստոսին բոլոր ավետարանիչներից նկարագրել է միայն Ղուկասը։ Հովիվներին Ավետարանում առաջին անգամ լուրը հայտնվում է ծնունդից քիչ անց: Նրանց հայտնվում է հրեշտակը և հայտնում Մեսիայի ծննդի մասին՝ ըստ ուղղափառ ավանդույթի՝ հովիվներին լուրն ավետում է Գաբրիել հրեշտակապետը։ Նա չի ուղեկցում հովիվներին, այլ միայն նշան է տալիս, որին հետևելով էլ վերջիններս ուղևորվում են Բեթղեհեմ։ Հովիվների քանակը Սուրբ գրքում չի նշվում, սակայն սովորաբար մանրանկարչության մեջ պատկերված է երեք մարդ, նույնքան էլ մոգ։
