Հայաստանում նշվում է Վարդավառը

Հայաստանում այսօր նշվում է Հայ Առաքելական Եկեղեցու հինգ տաղավար տոներից մեկը՝ Վարդավառը, կամ Հիսուս Քրիստոսի Պայծառակերպության տոնը։ Վարդավառը կամ վարդեվառը հայ ժողովրդական նախաքրիստոնեական տոն է, որն ըստ եկեղեցական տոնացույցի նշվում է Զատիկից 14 շաբաթ կամ 98 օր հետո, կիրակի։
Տոնի պատմությունը գալիս է դեռևս հեթանոսական ժամանակներից։ Վաղնջական ժամանակներից հուլիս ամսին, դաշտային հիմնական աշխատանքներն ավարտելուց և հացահատիկը հավաքելուց հետո ընդունված սովորություն էր մեծ տոնախմբություն կազմակերպել՝ օրհնելով և զոհաբերություններ անելով դաշտը հովանավորող ուժերին։ Այսպես, տոնահանդեսի անհրաժեշտ դրսևորումներից էր հասկի փնջեր և նույնիսկ խրձեր տանել մեհյանները շնորհակալության տուրք մատուցելով այդ հասկի աճելուն օժանդակած աստվածներին, գառ զոհաբերել ջրերի ակունքների մոտ՝ ջրերի ոգիներին աղերսվող ուխտավայրերում, մեծարելով դաշտային աշխատանքներին խիստ անհրաժեշտ ջուրը հովանավորող ուժերը։ Հնում Վարդավառի տոնը կապում էին հայկական դիցաբանության ջրի, սիրո, պտղաբերության ու գեղեցկության աստվածուհի Աստղիկի հետ։ Վարդավառի տոնը նշվում էր ժողովրդական մեծ հանդիսություններով։ Աստղիկին վարդեր էին նվիրում, աղավնիներ էին բաց թողնում և միմյանց վրա ջուր ցողում։ Ջուր ցողելու սովորությունը պահպանվել է նաև մեր օրերում։
Քրիստոնեական ավանդույթի համաձայն այդ օրը Հիսուս Քրիստոսը Պետրոս, Հակոբ և Հովհաննես առաքյալների հետ բարձրանում է լեռ աղոթելու։ Տապից ու հոգնամությունից առաքյալները քնում են, իսկ աղոթող Քրիստոսի վրա լույս է իջնում, նրա դեմքն արևի նման պայծառանում է, իսկ հագի զգեստը ձյունի նման ճերմակում այնպես, որ ամբողջ լեռը ողողվում է լույսով։ Այդ փայլից առաքյալներն արթնանում են և ականատեսը դառնում Քրիստոսի «Պայծառակերպության» և «Այլակերպության» հրաշքի։ Այստեղից տոնի անունը «Քրիստոսի Պայծառակերպության» կամ «Քրիստոսի Այլակերպության» տոն։
Տոնը հատկապես սիրված է երեխաների շրջանում, բայց մեծերը նույնպես անտարբեր չեն։ Իրար վրա ջուր ցողելու կամ ջրելու ավանդույթը ժողովրդական լեզվում անվանվում է նաև ջրոցի։
Վերջին հարյուրամյակի ընթացքում Հայաստանի հյուսիսարևելյան շրջաններում կայունացել է Վարդավառը հուլիսի 22-ին հաջորդող կիրակի օրը նշելու ավանդույթը։ Այդ օրը, ըստ էության, լավագույնս համապատասխանում է տոնի բովանդակային սկզբունքին, գյուղացու դաշտային աշխատանքները հիմնականում ավարտված են լինում և լիովին իմաստավորվում է հասկերը եկեղեցում կամ գառը ուխտավայրերում զոհաբերելու սովորույթը։
