ՆԱՏՕ-ն նոր մարտական գործողություն չի պլանավորում Աֆղանստանում: Այդ մասին, ինչպես տեղեկացնում Է «Արմենպրես»-ը, դաշինքի գլխավոր քարտուղար Յենս Ստոլտենբերգը հայտարարել Է Իսպանիայում կայացած մամուլի ասուլիսում:

Նրա խոսքով՝ Աֆղանստանում ՆԱՏՕ-ի ներկայությունը կդառնա դաշինքի անդամ երկրների արտաքին գործերի նախարարների՝ դեկտեմբերի 1-2-ին կայանալիք հանդիպման գլխավոր թեման: «Մենք կքննարկենք եւ որոշում կընդունենք Աֆղանստանում ՆԱՏՕ-ի ապագա ներկայության հարցի վերաբերյալ: Ես վաղօրոք ենթադրություններ չեմ անի հանդիպման արդյունքների առթիվ: Ես ողջունում եմ Աֆղանստանում իրենց ներկայությունը պլանավորվածից ավելի երկար իրականացնելու պատրաստակամության վերաբերյալ ՆԱՏՕ-ի մի քանի դաշնակիցների հայտարարությունները»,-ասել Է Ստոլտենբերգը, հիշեցնելով, ո ր այդ մասին հայտնել են ԱՄՆ-ը, Գերմանիան եւ Մեծ Բրիտանիան: 

Նրա խոսքով՝ Աֆղանստանին անհրաժեշտ Է դաշինքի աջակցությունը: «Մենք նոր մարտական գործողություն չենք սկսելու, մենք այն ավարտել ենք անցյալ տարվա վերջին՝ որոշելով գործարկել «Վճռական պաշտպանություն» ուսուցողական առաքելությունը: Խնդիրն այն Է, թե մենք ինչպես ենք դա անելու, ինչ զորակազմով եւ ինչ տեւողությամբ»,-նշել Է նա:   

Աֆղանստանի իրադրությունը վերջին ամիսներին նկատելիորեն վատթարացել Է: «Թալիբան» արմատական շարժումը, որն ավելի վաղ գրավել Էր երկրի գյուղական շրջանների նշանակալի մասը, հարձակում Է ծավալել խոշոր քաղաքների վրա: Սեպտեմբերի վերջին «Թալիբան»-ի զինյալները զավթել են Քունդուզ հյուսիսաֆղանական քաղաքը, որը խաղաղ ժամանակ ավելի քան 300 հազար բնակչություն ուներ, իսկ ներկայում գրոհներ են ձեռնարկում Ղազնի քաղաքի վրա, որը երկրի մայրաքաղաք Քաբուլից հարավ-արեմուտք ընկած համանուն նահանգի վարչական կենտրոնն Է, հաղորդել Է ՌԻԱ Նովոստին:
