Աշխարհի առաջնության քառորդ եզրափակչի բոլոր զույգերը հայտնի են. վերջին ուղեգիրը բաժին հասավ Անգլիայի ընտրանուն:
1/8 եզրափակչում Անգլիայի հավաքականը ուժերը չափեց Կոլումբիայի ընտրանու հետ: Անգլիացիները մինչև խաղի վերջնամասը հաղթում էին նվազագույն հաշով: Սակայն կուլբանցիները ավելացված ժամանակում խփեցին պատասխան գոլը և խաղը տեղափոխվեց լրացուցիչ ժամանակ
57-րդ րոպեին 11 մետրանոց հարվածից գոլ խփեց Հարի Քեյնը: Պատասխան գոլը իր հաշվին գրանցեց Յերի Մինան (90+3'): Լրացուցիչ ժամանակում գոլերը չգրանցվեցին և հաղթողը որոշվեց հետխաղյա 11 մետրանոց հարվածներով. 4:3 հաշվովով հաղթեցին անգլիացիները:
