Վալենտինա Տյունինան ծնվել է 1949 թվականի ապրիլի 7-ին, ներկայումս Ուկրաինայի Խմելնեցկի շրջանում: Հայրը՝ Իվան Տյունինը, զինվորական է եղել, մայրը՝ Իրինա Տյունինան, թատրոնում դերձակ է աշխատել:Վալենտինան երկու մեծ քույր ունի՝ Լիդիան և Զինաիդան: Վալենտիանան երկրորդ դասարան է եղել, որբ մահացել է նրա հայրը:

 1966 թվականին դպրոցն արծաթե մեդալով է ավարտել: 1967 թվականին ավարտել է Չերկասսի բժշկական դպրոցը: 1972 թվականին ավարտել է Լենինգրադի քիմիադեղագործական ինստիտուտը: Հինգերորդ կուրսում ամուսնացել է Վլադիմիր Մատվիենկոյի հետ: Երիտասարդ տարիքում Վալենտինան ավելի շատ գիտնական է ցանկացել դառնալ:

 1973 թվականին Վլադիմիրն ու Վալենտինան որդի են ունեցել՝ Սերգեյ Մատվիենկոյին: 

  

 

Վալենտինա Մատվիենկոյի որդու հարստությունը

Վալենտինա Մատվիենկոյի նահանգապետ լինելու ժամկետի ավարտից մեկուկես տարի առաջ նրա որդու բիզնես-ակտիվներն արդեն 1 միլիարդ դոլար էին գնահատվում: 

Սերգեյը և նրա ընկերը ձերբակալվել են 1994 թվականի հուլիսի 16-ին: Նա մասնակցել է իր ծանոթի  բնակարանի կողոպուտի մեջ: Սերգեյը շուտով գրավի դիմաց ազատ է արձակվել:

2005 թվականին նա նշանակվել է «Վնեշտորբանկի» ՏՏ վարչության ավագ փոխնախագահ և տնօրեն:

Էստոնիայում կղզի է գնել, որտեղ նոր էլիտար քոթեջներ են կառուցվում: Ամուսնացած է եղել հայտնի երգչուհի Զարա Մնգոյանի հետ, ով ծնունդով գյումրեցի է:  Ամուսնացել է 2004 թվականի ապրիլի 24-ին, շուտով ամուսնալուցծվել է: Նախկին կնոջը ստիպված է եղել 500.000 դոլար գումար փոխհատուցել: 

Այժմ Սերգեյը հայտնի միլիարդատերերից է:
