Ո՞վ է ասել, թե սպասուհիները աշխատավայրում զբաղվում են միայն մաքրության և տանտերերի հարմարվետության այլ հարցերով: Նրանք նաև լուռ ականջ են դնում իրենց ղեկավարների գաղտնիքներին և երբեմն կատարում են սարսափելի բացահայտումներ: 

Հենց այսպիսի սպասուհիների մասին է պատմում ամերիկյան ABC հեռուստաալիքով հեռարձակվող «Հրեշավոր սպասուհիները» (Devious Maids) հեռուստասերիալը: Այն սկսել է հեռարձակվել 2013 թ-ից և մինչ օրս ունի երեք եթերաշրջան:

Դատելով տարբեր կայքերում հեռուստաշոուի վերաբերյալ արված մեկնաբանություններին` այն կարճ ժամանակում հասցրել է սիրվել հեռուստադիտողների կողմից: Հետևաբար, ֆիլմի նոր եթերաշրջանները սարի հետևում չեն:

Ֆիլմի գլխավոր հերոսուհիները` սպասուհիներ Մարիսոլ Սուարեսը, Կարմեն Լունան, Ռոզի Ուեսթմորը և Զոյլա Դիազը, մոտ ընկերուհիներ են: Թեև սպասուհիներն աշխատում են տարբեր տանտերերի մոտ, բայց, պարբերաբար, հանդիպում են և սկսում են քննարկել իրենց աշխատավայրերում տեղի ունեցող տարօրինակ իրադարձությունները:

Ֆիլմի առաջին եթերաշրջանը բաղկացած է 13 էպիզոդից և սկսվում է սպասուհի Ֆլորայի սպանության տեսարանով: Իսկ թե ով է սպանության հեղինակը, փորձում են պարզել Ֆլորայի մտերիմ ընկերուհիները` վերը նշված սպասուհիները: Ի տարբերություն Կարմենի, Ռոզիի և Զոյլայի` Մարիսոլը սպասուհի չէ. նա գրող է, որը հետաաքրքրված սպանության դեպքով` սպասուհի է ձևանում և աշխատանքի է անցնում հարևան տանտերերից մեկի տանը: Հենց նրան էլ հաջողվում է բացահայտել կատարված հանցանքը:

Հեռուստասերիալի երեք եթերաշրջանները ներկայացնում են տարբեր մութ պատմություններ, որոնք կապված են սպասուհիների տանտերերից յուրաքանչյուրի հետ: Այս շոուն իր մեջ ներառում է թե՛ դետեկտիվի, թե՛ կատակերգության և թե՛ դրամայի ժանրեր: Հեռուստասերիալի առանձնահատկությունն այն է, որ ի տարբերություն շատ բազմասերիանոց ֆիլմերի` ֆիլմի ռեժիսորները չեն փորձել արհեստականորեն երկարաձգել դրա էպիզոդներն ու սերիաների տևողությունը: Ամեն ինչ ներկայացված է կարճ, կոնկրետ, ինտրիգային և հումորով:

Կարծիք կա, թե «Հրեշավոր սպասուհիները» «Հուսահատ տնտեսուհիների» կնրկնօրինակումն է: Միգուցե, այս ֆիլմերի  որոշ դրվագներ և սցենարային լուծումներ նման են, ինչը բացատրվում է նրանով, որ ֆիլմի պրոդյուսերներից մեկը «Հուսահատ տնտեսուհիների» աստղ Եվա Լոնգորիան է: Սակայն պետք է նշել, որ այս հեռուստասերիալում իրադարձություններն ավելի ինտրիգային են, իսկ հումորը` ավելի սուր: 

Բացի Եվա Լոնգորիայից ֆիլմի վրա աշխատել են պրոդյուսերներ Սաբրինա Վայնդը, Փոլ ՄքԳիգանը,  Լարի Շումանը, Դևիդ Լոնները և այլք:

Գլխավոր սպասուհիներին մարմնավորում են լատինաամերիկյան ծագում ունեցող դերասանուհիներ Աննա Օրտիցը (Մարիսոլի դերում), Դանիա Ռամիրեսը (Ռոզիի դերում) Ռոսելին Սանչեսը (Կարմենի դերում) և Ջուդի Ռեյեսը (Զոյլայի դերում):
