Հայաստանն ընտրվել է ՄԱԿ-ի Տնտեսական և Սոցիալական հարցերով Խորհրդի անդամ

Նյու Յորքում հունիսի 13-ին ՄԱԿ-ի Գլխավոր ասամբլեայի 72-րդ նստաշրջանի լիագումար նիստի ընթացքում կայացած ընտրությունների արդյունքում Հայաստանը երեք տարի ժամկետով ընտրվել է ՄԱԿ-ի Տնտեսական և Սոցիալական խորհրդի (ECOSOC) անդամ։ Այս մասին «Արմենպրես»-ին տեղեկացրին ՀՀ արտգործնախարարության մամուլի, տեղեկատվության և հասարակայնության հետ կապի վարչությունից:
Տնտեսական ու սոցիալական խորհուրդը համակարգում է ՄԱԿ-ի մասնագիտացված գործակալությունների, ֆունկցիոնալ հանձնաժողովների, ծրագրերի և հիմնադրամների և տարածաշրջանային հանձնաժողովների աշխատանքները տնտեսական, սոցիալական, բնապահպանական և հարակից ոլորտներում։ ՄԱԿ-ի հիմնական մարմին հանդիսացող այս կառույցին անդամակցում է 54 երկիր։ Տնտեսական և սոցիալական խորհուրդը կենտրոնական հարթակ է հանդիսանում միջազգային տնտեսական և սոցիալական հարցերի քննարկումների ու քաղաքականության մշակման նպատակով անդամ-երկրներին և ՄԱԿ-ի համակարգին ուղղված համապատասխան խորհրդատվության տրամադրման համար։
Հայաստանը Տնտեսական և սոցիալական խորհրդի անդամ է ընտրվում երկրորդ անդամ (առաջին անգամ՝ 2004-06 թթ.)՝ վերահաստատելով կայուն զարգացմանն ուղղված միջազգային ջանքերին աջակցելու և Խորհրդի աշխատանքներին ազգային ներդրումը բերելու հանձնառությունը։
