Վրաստանի Առաջին Ժողովրդավարական Հանրապետության 100-ամյակին նվիրված տոնակատարություններին մասնակցելու նպատակով Թբիլիսիում այցելած ՀՀ Նախագահ Արմեն Սարգսյանը մայիսի 26-ին այցելել է Վիրահայոց թեմի առաջնորդանիստ Սուրբ Գևորգ եկեղեցի: Հայաստանի ղեկավարը հանդիպում է ունեցել նաեւ վիրահայ համայնքի ներկայացուցիչների հետ։

Ինչպես «Արմենպրես»-ին տեղեկացրին Հայաստանի Հանրապետության Նախագահի աշխատակազմի հասարակայնության և տեղեկատվության միջոցների հետ կապերի վարչությունից, դիմելով ներկաներին` Նախագահ Սարգսյանն ասել է, որ Վրաստանում է որպես հայ ժողովրդի ներկայացուցիչ, Անկախության հռչակման 100-ամյակի առթիվ շնորհավորելու մեր վրաց բարեկամներին։ Արմեն Սարգսյանը հիշեցրել է, որ Հայաստանի Առաջին Հանրապետության առաջին կառավարությունը ստեղծվել է Թբիլիսիում և Անկախության հռչակագիրը ծնունդ է առել հենց այս քաղաքում, որը հայ ժողովրդի համար մշակութային, հոգևոր ու քաղաքական կենտրոնն էր։

Նախագահն ասել է․ «Չեմ մոռանա այն ջերմությունը և սերը, որ տեսնում եմ ձեր աչքերում: Այսօր, որպես Նախագահ, առաջին անգամ եմ այստեղ, սակայն այս այցը վերջինը չի լինելու, հաճախ եք ինձ տեսնելու և ձեզանից շատերը հաճախ Երևանում իմ հյուրն են լինելու: Նման տաճարում սկսում ես մտածել մեր հոգևոր ուժի, հայոց ոգու անմահության մասին: Դարերով մենք ապրել ենք մեր հայրենիքից հեռու, չունենալով մեր պետականությունը, երազել ենք դրա մասին: Սակայն դարերով պահպանել ենք մեր մշակույթը, հայ կրոնը, հայ երեխայի կրթությունը: Պահպանել ենք այսօրվա համար: Աստված մեզ ուղղորդել է դեպի ազատ ու անկախ հայրենիք։ Եվ այն, ինչ այսօր ունենք Հայաստանում, դարերից եկած ու դարերի ընթացքում մեր մեջ հավաքված ոգու ու մշակույթի պոռթկումն է»:

Հանրապետության Նախագահը խոսել է նաեւ Հայաստանում տեղի ունեցած վերջին փոփոխությունների մասին եւ նշել, որ դրանք քաղաքական ու տնտեսական հեռանկարային հնարավորություններ են ստեղծում մեր երկրի համար։ Դիմելով հայկական եկեղեցում հավաքվածներին` նա ասել է․ «Ձեզանից յուրաքանչյուրն այսօր պետք է հպարտ լինի, որովհետև Հայաստանը ցույց տվեց, որ այն եզակի երկրներից է, որ կարող է հսկայական փոփոխություն անել, որը շատերն անվանում են հեղափոխություն, թավշյա հեղափոխություն․․․ ես ասում եմ՝ հեղափոխություն հայկական ձևով, առանց մի կաթիլ արյան։ Հիմա եկել է ժամանակը, որ մենք կառուցենք այն հայրենիքը, որին մենք արժանի ենք»:

Արմեն Սարգսյանի խոսքով` մենք փոքր պետություն, բայց համաշխարհային ազգ ենք: Համաշխարհային՝ մեր ոգով, մեր մշակույթով ու այն ազդեցությամբ, որ թողնում ենք աշխարհում: Վիրահայերը, դարերով ապրելով Վրաստանում, մեծապես նպաստել են հայկական մշակույթի զարգացմանը: Նրա խոսքով`«Թբիլիսիում ծնվել ու ապրել է մեր մշակույթի ահռելի մի շերտ, հայտնի անուններ: Այն մեծ ներդրումը, որ նրանք ունեցել են մեր մշակույթի ու կրթության ոլորտում, մեր բոլորի պարծանքն է»։
