ՀՀ պաշտպանության նախկին նախարար Վիգեն Սարգսյանը պատասխանել է Լեռնային Ղարաբաղի հակամարտության կողմ լինելու մասին իր և վարչապետ Նիկոլ Փաշինյանի հայտարարությունների վերաբերյալ ՀՀ առաջին նախագահ Լևոն Տեր- Պետրոսյանի արձագանքին: «Արմենպրես»-ը ներկայացնում է Վիգեն Սարգսյանի «Արցախի հիմնահարցում Լևոն Տեր-Պետրոսյանի մոտեցումները հայտնի են, հայտնի է նաև մեր հանրության վերաբերմունքը դրանց» վերտառությամբ հայտարարությունն ամբողջությամբ.

«Լևոն Տեր-Պետրոսյանի մոտեցումները ղարաբաղյան կարգավորման հարցում հայտնի են երկար ժամանակ: Դրանք դարձան իր հրաժարականի և իր գլխավորած ՀԱԿ-ի` 2017թ. խորհրդարանական ընտրություններում բացարձակ տապալման ակնհայտ պատճառ: Անկեղծ հույս ունեմ, որ Նիկոլ Փաշինյանը չի կիսում իր այդ հանրահայտ մոտեցումներն Արցախյան հիմնախնդրի շուրջ: Կարևորել և կարևորում եմ արտաքին քաղաքական մոտեցումների շուրջ արհեստավարժ թիմ ձևավորելու խնդիրը` անհատական մոտեցումները որպես երկրի կարծիք ներկայացնելը բացառելու նպատակով: Հատկապես այս պարագայում, երբ վարչապետ ընտրված անձը առիթ չի ունեցել լայն հանրային և նեղ մասնագիտական քննարկումներ անցկացնել արտաքին քաղաքականության հարցերի շուրջ իր հայեցակարգային մոտեցումների վերաբերյալ: Հենց դրա մասին եմ, առաջին հերթին, խոսել իմ հարցազրույցում:

Հայաստանի ղեկավարությունը, հատկապես իր բանակցային հայտագիրը ներկայացնելիս, պետք է շեշտադրի այն մոտեցումները, որոնք բխում են Արցախի անվտանգության շահերից և ուժեղացնում են իր բանակցային դիրքերը: Հայաստանի` «պատերազմի կողմ» լինել-չլինելու հանգամանքն առաջ մղելուն զուգահեռ Ադրբեջանը մշտապես փորձում է նաև հակամարտությունը ներկայացնել որպես Հայաստանի և Ադրբեջանի միջև տարածքային վեճ: Դա անելու համար մշտապես խոսում է Հայաստանի և Ադրբեջանի միջև ղարաբաղյան հակամարտության մասին: Հակամարտությունը Ադրբեջանի և Ղարաբաղի միջև է: Հայաստանը հանդիսանում է բանակցություններում կողմ և հանդիսանում է Լեռնային Ղարաբաղի բնակչության անվտանգության երաշխավոր:

Հայաստանը միշտ շեշտադրել է, որ Արցախյան խնդիրը ժողովրդի ինքնորոշման պայքար է, և, վստահ եմ, շարունակելու է հանդես գալ այդ դիրքից:

Երբեք չեմ տառապել այն մոլուցքով, որ պետք է ինչ-որ բանի «հայր» համարվեմ, հատկապես` դարերի խորքից եկած մեր Ազգ-բանակ հայեցակարգի: Միշտ ասել եմ այդ մասին իմ հանրային ելույթներում: Պարզապես արել եմ ինչ իմ ուժերի մեջ էր ազգ-բանակ լինելու իրողությունն արդյունավետ քաղաքաականության վերածելու համար: Հպարտ եմ, որ շատ բաներում հաջողել եմ»:
