Shabat.am-ը գրում է.
Հայերը ԱՄՆ-ում բնակվել են հիմնականում 19-րդ դարից։ Այժմ նրանց թիվը հանում է 1.5 մլն-ից մինչև 2 մլն.-ի ։ ԱՄՆ-ի ամենահայաշատ նահանգը Կալիֆորնիան է, որը հաճախ անվանում են «Ամերիկյան Հայաստան»։
Պետք է նշել, որ դիվանագիտական հարաբերություններ Հայաստանի և ԱՄՆ-ի միջև հաստատվել են 1992 թվականին։
Հայտնի է, որ հայերը Հյուսիսային Ամերիկայում բնակություն են հաստատել 17-րդ դարի առաջին տասնամյակներից։ Այստեղ եկած առաջին հայի՝ պարսկահպատակ Ջոն Մարտինի անունը հիշատակվում է 1618 թվականին (զբաղվել է ծխախոտագործությամբ):
Հայերի գաղթն ԱՄՆ-ում իր գագաթնակետին է հասել 1915թ-ի ցեղասպանությունից հետո:
Միացյալ նահանգներում ապրել և ապրում են նաև համաշխարհային ճանաչում ունեցող հայեր, որոնցից մի քանիսին այսօր կներկայացնի shabat.am-ը
