«Արևմուտքից եկած այդ խավարը ծածկեց վիթխարի քաղաքը։ Անհետացան կամուրջները, պալատները։ Ամեն ինչ չքացավ, ասես՝ երբեք չէր էլ եղել աշխարհիս երեսին։ Երկնքով մեկ հրեղեն մի թել սլացավ։ Հետո քաղաքը ցնցվեց հարվածից։ Դա կրկնվեց, ու ծայր առավ ամպրոպը։ Վոլանդը դադարեց տեսանելի լինել ամպրոպի աղջամուղջի մեջ»։

Ինչպես երևում է՝ ԱՄՆ նախագահ Դոնալդ Թրամփն իսկապես մտադիր է Երուսաղեմը հրեական պետության մայրաքաղաք ճանաչել և Նահանգների դեսպանությունը Թել Ավիվից վիճելի կարգավիճակով Սուրբ քաղաք տեղափոխել: Ճիշտ է՝ Սպիտակ տան բոլոր ներկայացուցիչները մինչև վերջին պահն էլ խորհրդավոր լռություն պահպանեցին՝ հայտարարելով, թե նախագահին ներկայացվել են խնդրի բոլոր կողմերը, և միայն նա կորոշի, թե ինչ հայտարարությամբ հանդես կգա դեկտեմբերի 6–ին (ցավոք, տարբեր ժամային գոտիների պատճառով անհնար եղավ նյութը գրելու պահին կոնկրետ հայտարարությանն անդրադառնալ), սակայն, առանձին դետալներ հենց վերոնշյալ սցենարի օգտին էին վկայում: Մասնավորապես՝ ԱՄՆ պետդեպարտամենտի ծանուցումը, որով, անվտանգության ապահովման անհրաժեշտությունից ելնելով, ԱՄՆ դիվանագետներին և ընդհանրապես Իսրայելում գտնվող ամերիկյան պետական ծառայողներին արգելվել է ոտք դնել Հորդանանի արևմտյան ափ, այդ թվում՝ Բեթղեհեմ, Երիքով, Հուդա, Սամարիա և հին Երուսաղեմ: Հորդորներից զերծ չեն մնացել նաև ընդհանրապես ԱՄՆ քաղաքացիները, որոնց առաջարկվել է ձեռնպահ մնալ մարդաշատ վայրերում և քաղաքի այն հատվածներում հայտնվելուց, որտեղ իսրայելական մեծաթիվ ոստիկաններ ու զինվորականներ կլինեն խմբված: Պետդեպարտամենտն, ի դեպ, պահանջել է խստությամբ հետևել այս ցուցումներին, քանի դեռ առաջիկայում այլ կամ հավելյալ ծանուցումներ չեն արվի իր կողմից: Իհարկե, ասվածը կարելի է նաև զուտ որպես անվտանգության ընթացիկ միջոցառում դիտարկել: Բայց այն բացատրությունը, որ տրվել է պետդեպարտամենտի կողմից՝ «ԱՄՆ նախագահ Դոնալդ Թրամփի կողմից Երուսաղեմն Իսրայելի մայրաքաղաք ճանաչելու վերաբերյալ հնարավոր հրամանագիր արձակելու համատեքստում չենք բացառում բռնության նոր ալիքի բռնկումը», տարընթերցման սողանցք չի ընձեռում: Ակնհայտ է, որ այս դեպքում գործ ունենք, ոչ թե ճանաչել–չճանաչել երկընտրանքի, այլ՝ երբ և որտեղ կտեղափոխվի ԱՄՆ դեսպանատունը ճշտման հետ:

Ուղիղն ասած՝ Վաշինգտոնն իսկապես մտահոգվելու առիթ ունի: Նախ՝ Բեթղեհեմում այս պահին ԱՄՆ նախագահի լուսանկարներն են այրում, իսկ Երուսաղեմում մահմեդականները եռօրյա «զայրույթի են պատրաստվում»: Բացի այդ՝ բոլոր վերոնշյալ երկրները, որոնց Թրամփը տեղեկացրել է իր մտադրության մասին, Մարոկuոյի, Թուրքիայի և Եվրամիության հետ միասին՝ իրենց անհամաձայնությունն են հայտնել Սպիտակ տան դիրքորոշմանը (Թուրքիան նույնիսկ սպառնացել է խզել դիվանագիտական հարաբերություններն Իսրայելի հետ): Դրանից բացի՝ Իսլամական համագործակցության կազմակերպությունն է հայտարարել, որ նման քայլից հետո իր 57 անդամները կխզեն հարաբերությունները ոչ միայն ԱՄՆ–ի, այլև ցանկացած պետության հետ, որը կճանաչի Երուսաղեմը որպես Իսրայելի մայրաքաղաք։ Երեկ էլ հայտնի դարձավ, որ արաբական միապետություններն են պատրաստվում Պարսից ծոցի համագործակցության խորհրդի անհապաղ նիստ հրավիրել, որում Արաբիան, ԱՄԷ–ն, Բահրեյնը, Քաթարը, Քուվեյթն ու Օմանը, Քաթարի ճգնաժամը մոռացած, կանդրադառնան Երուսաղեմի խնդրին ու տարածաշրջանային հետագա զարգացումներին:

Ինչպես կզարգանան դրանք՝ դեռ, իհարկե, պարզ չէ, բայց ակնհայտ է, որ Սպիտակ տան քաղաքականության արդյունքում Մերձավոր Արևելքը դարձյալ կցնցվի…
