 ԱՄՆ-ի նախագահ Բարաք Օբաման Մեծ Բրիտանիայի արքայազն Հարիին շնորհակալություն է հայտնել Աֆղանստանում նրա ռազմական ծառայության համար: Այդ մասին նա ասել է հոկտեմբերի 28-ին Սպիտակ տանն արքայազնի հետ կայացած հանդիպմանը:

«Մենք ցանկանում ենք շնորհակալություն հայտնել նորին թագավորական մեծությանը Աֆղանստանում գործող ամերիկյան զորքերի հետ միասին ծառայելու համար»,- հայտարարել է Օբաման: Հարիի ծառայությունը վկայում է ԱՄՆ-ի եւ Մեծ Բրիտանիայի միջեւ «առանձնահատուկ հարաբերությունների, կապերի» մասին, նշել է ԱՄՆ-ի ղեկավարը՝ հույս հայտնելով, որ այդ կապերն այսուհետեւ էլ կպահպանվեն:

Արքայազն Հարին իր հերթին շնորհակալություն է հայտնել Սպիտակ տան ղեկավարին հյուրընկալության համար եւ նրա հետ քննարկել է եկող տարվա մայիսին Ֆլորիդայում նախատեսված «Չնվաճվածների խաղերը», որոնց մասնակցում են թեժ կետերում վիրավորված վետերանները:

Հոկտեմբերի 28-ին ավելի վաղ Հարին ԱՄՆ-ի առաջին տիկնոջ՝ Միշել Օբամայի եւ ԱՄՆ-ի փոխնախագահի տիկնոջ՝ Ջիլ Բայդենի հետ միասին վիրավոր զինվորականների հետ հանդիպում է ունեցել Վիրջինիայի նահանգի վետերանների վերականգնողական կենտրոնում:

Ելույթ ունենալով վերականգնողական կենտրոնում՝ արքայազն Հարին հայտարարել է, որ Աֆղանստանում ծառայությունը փոխել է իր կյանքը: Նրա խոսքով՝ վերադառնալով Մեծ Բրիտանիա, ինքը հասկացել է, որ պատասխանատու է բոլոր վետերաններին օգնելու համար, որոնք «հսկայական զոհաբերություններ են արել հանուն իրենց երկրի»:

Վերջին երեք տարվա ընթացքում արքայազն Հարին ծառայել է ավիացիայում: Բրիտանական գահի ժառանգորդը երկու անգամ ծառայություն է անցել Աֆղանստանում:
