INTERNATIONAL NEWSՕրեր առաջ Ռուսաստանում ԱՄՆ դեսպան Ջոն Հանթսմանը սուր քննադատության էր ենթարկել Միացյալ Նահանգների կառավարության կողմից ֆինանսավորվող 9 լրատվամիջոցներին որպես «օտարերկրյա գործակալներ» գրանցելու՝ ռուսական իշխանությունների որոշումը՝ հավելելով, որ Մոսկվան այս քայլով փաստացի խափանում է ՌԴ–ում ամերիկյան լրատվամիջոցների աշխատանքը: Ճիշտ է՝ ՌԴ արտգործնախարարի խոսնակ Մարիա Զախարովան պարզաբանեց, որ իրենք ընդամենը համարժեք պատասխան են տվել ԱՄՆ–ին՝ Russia Today ռուսական հեռուստաընկերությանն ամիսներ շարունակ հալածելու, ամերիկյան ԿՀՎ–ի մակարդակում գործակալ որակելու, այնուհետ նաև՝ այդ կազմակերպությունը պաշտոնապես «օտարերկրյա գործակալ» գրանցելու որոշմանը, սակայն, ԱՄՆ–ին այս պարզաբանումը չի գոհացրել
:Մասնավորապես, դեսպան Հանթսմանը Մոսկվայում Ազատության և Ամերիկայի ձայնի գրասենյակներ այցելելով՝ հակադարձել է, որ շուրջ 80 տարվա պատմություն ունեցող ամերիկյան FARA ակտը, որով ռուսական հեռուստաընկերությունն «օտարերկրյա գործակալ» է ճանաչվել ԱՄՆ–ում, չի խոչընդոտում այդ ընկերության աշխատանքն ԱՄՆ–ում և պարզապես տեղեկացնում է դրա ֆինանսավորման աղբյուրների մասին, որոնք մինչ այդ շատ լավ են թաքցվել: Մինչդեռ, ըստ դեսպանի, Ռուսաստանում այդպիսի հարցերը շատ ավելի բարդ կանոնադրությամբ են կարգավորվում, և եթե ռուսական Պետդուման այս օրենքը հաստատի՝ ցանկացած ամերիկյան լրատվամիջոցի գործունեությունը, փաստորեն, կարող է նույնիսկ առանց դատարանի որոշման և իշխանության փոքրիկ մի ազդանշանով կասեցվել:
Դեսպանի հորդորները, սակայն, այդպես էլ լսելի չդարձան Ռուսաստանում: Երեկ Պետդուման միաձայն հաստատեց օտարերկրյա գործակալ ճանաչված ԶԼՄ–ներին առնչվող օրինագիծը, և թե ինչպես այժմ կզարգանան իրադարձությունները, դժվար է ասել: «Այս պահին չենք կարող ասել, թե ինչպիսի ազդեցություն կունենա այս որոշումը Ռուսաստանում մեր գործունեության վրա: Կարող ենք միայն ասել, որ «Ամերիկայի ձայնը» օրենքով անկախ և անաչառ լուրերի վրա հիմնված լրատվական կազմակերպություն է, և մենք մշտապես հավատարիմ ենք այդ սկզբունքներին»,– հայտարարել է Ամերիկայի ձայնի տնօրեն Ամանդա Բենեթը:
