Կենտրոնական բանկը որոշ ժամանակ առաջ հայտնել էր, որ հայկական թղթադրամների պատկերները փոխվելու են: Չարենցի, Թումանյանին ու Ավետիք Իսահակյանին փոխարինելու են գալիս Սևակը, Սարոյանն ու Այվազովսկին, ինչպես նաև Գրիգոր Լուսավորիչը:Արդեն երեկ նրանք թողարկեցին նոր էսքիզները, որոնք բուռն քննադատության արժանացան:

 

Եթե Սևակի ու Գրիգոր Լուսավորչի հետ, այդքան էլ խնդիրներ չկան, չնայած այն հանգամանքին, որ Չարենցի գրական արժանիքները քանիցս գերազանցելի են, քան Սևակինը, ապա Սարոյանի ու Այվազովսկու հարցով կան երկմտանքներ:

Մի կողմ թողնենք այն հանգամանքը, որ սոցիալական խնդիրներով լեցուն Հայաստանում Կենտրոնական բանկը որոշել է նման նախաձեռնությամբ հանդես գալ ու դրա վրա գումարներ ծախսել:

Դրամը սիմվոլ է: Պետության սիմվոլներից մեկը: Դրամի վրա արձանագրված պատկերները, փողոցների անունների, արձանների հետ միասին ձևավորում են հայի ինքնության հիմնական ուրվագիծը: Մարդիկ ենթագիտակցորեն իրենց ասոցացնում են այն սիմվոլների հետ, որոնք տեսնում են: Իսկ դրամը տեսնելու են ամենաշատը, այն սիմվոլներից ամենաշրջանառվողն է:

Որևէ կերպ չնսեմացնելով թե Վիլյամ Սարոյանի, թե Այվազովսկու ավանդը հայ ժողովրդի պատմության և իրենց ոլորտներում, ամեն դեպքում ակնհայտ է, որ նրանք Հայաստան պետության հետ կապ չունեն: Թե Սարոյանը, թե Այվազովսկին սփյուռքում ապրող ու սփյուռքում հաջողած տարագիր հայի հաջողակ օրինակներ են: Այս օրինակներն են մարդիկ տեսնելու դրամների վրա ու երևի ենթագիտակցորեն մտածելու են, որ Սփյուռքում հաջողելու շանսերն ավելի մեծ են, քան Հայաստանում, որ հայրենիքն ու հայ ժողովուրդն առավել կարևոր են, քան պետությունն ու Հայաստանի Հանրապետության քաղաքացի լինելը:

Կենտրոնական բանկը, բնականաբար այսքան չի խորացել այս հարցում: Նրանք պարզապես փորձել են քաղքենիություն անել, դուր գալ Հայաստան եկող արտասահմանցի զբոսաշրջիկներին, ամերիկացիներին ՝ Սարոյանով, ռուսներին ՝ Այվազովսկով: Իսկ հայաստանցիների մասին նրանք չեն մտածել: Այլապես, ոչ թե աշխարհասփյուռ հայտնի հայերի, այլ Հայաստանի առաջին կամ երրորդ հանրապետությունների հետ կապ ունեցող, այդ երկու պետականություններում ներդրում ունեցած անձանց պատկերներ կդրոշմեին երկրի ամենաշրջանառվող սիմվոլի ՝ դրամի վրա:  

Բայց քաղքենիությունը, պետականության փոխարեն հայրենիքի մասին վերացական պատկերացումները, նախկին վարչապետ Տիգրան Սարգսյանից ժառանգություն մնացած հայկական աշխարհի մասին էզոթերիկ մոտեցումները գերակշռեցին: Եվ ունեցանք այն, ինչ ունեցանք:
