ԱՄՆ-ը, «հոսանքին» հակառակ չգնալով, Իրանին դարձնում է Սիրիայի ճգնաժամի կարգավորման բանակցությունների մասնակից՝ հավանաբար առաջնորդվելով այն գիտակցմամբ, որ տարածաշրջանային գործընթացներում իրանական գործոնի՝ էլ ավելի ակտիվացումն այլևս անխուսափելի է: Այդպիսով, ԱՄՆ-ը ժամանակ շահելու հնարավորություն է ստանում՝ վերահաշվարկելու իր հետագա քայլերը, որոնք, ի թիվս այլ իրողությունների, կարող են ենթադրել ռուս-իրանական ռազմաքաղաքական և տնտեսական շահերի տարանջատում՝ հաշվի առնելով այն, որ Իրանը և Ռուսաստանը, միմյանց փոխլրացնելով, տարածաշրջանում առավել անկաշկանդ գործելու հնարավորություն են ստանում:

Հակառակ դեպքում ԱՄՆ-ը և ԵՄ երկրները կարող են զիջել իրենց «դիրքերը» Մերձավոր Արևելքում և ի վերջո, հրաժարվել հակաահաբեկչական պայքարի «առաջամարտիկի» կարգավիճակից, քանի որ Իրանն ու Ռուսաստանը, ինչպես երևում է, վճռական են տրամադրված ապացուցելու աշխարհին, որ ի տարբերություն Արևմուտքի՝ ունակ են լուրջ հաջողություններ արձանագրել հակաահաբեկչական պայքարում և շեշտակի հարված հասցնել սուննիական ծայրահեղ արմատական շարժումներին:

Քչերի մոտ է կասկած հարուցում այն, որ ՌԴ-ը և ԻԻՀ-ը կարող են արդյունավետ պայքար մղել ահաբեկիչների դեմ, սակայն շատերն են կասկածում, որ ռազմական հաջողություններից հետո այդ երկրները կկարողանան իրենց ռազմաքաղաքական, տնտեսական ազդեցության տակ պահել այն տարածքները, որտեղ ակտիվ գործողություններ են իրականացրել: Ուստի, Արևմուտքը հավանաբար ոչ թե շեշտը կդնի Ռուսաստանին և Իրանին հակադրվելու ռազմական բաղադրիչի, այլ այդ երկրների մյուս թույլ կողմերն օգտագործելու և նրանց շահերը միմյանց հակադրելու վրա:
