Օրերս իրաքյան հետախուզությունը նոր տվյալներ է հրապարակել «Իսլամական պետություն» (ԻՊ) ահաբեկչական կազակերպության կողմից նավթի վաճառքից ստացվող եկամուտների վերաբերյալ: Ըստ այդմ՝ ծայրահեղական կառույցն Իրաքի և Սիրիայի տարածքներում իր վերահսկողության ներքո գտնվող նավթային ռեսուրսների վաճառքից ամսական ստանում է մինչև 50 մլն դոլար շահույթ. ի դեպ, այս տվյալները մոտավրապես համընկնում են ամերիկացի մասնագետների գնահատականներին: Դեռևս ընթացիկ տարվա հուլիս ամսին ԱՄՆ ֆինանսների նախարարի ֆինանսական ահաբեկչության դեմ պայքարի գծով օգնական Դանիել Գլեյզերի հնչեցրած տվյալների համաձայն՝ նավթի վաճառքից ստացվող ԻՊ-ի ամսական եկամուտները կազմում են շուջ 40 մլն դոլար: 

Առհասարակ, նավթի վաճառքից ստացվող հասույթները համարվում են ԻՊ-ի կարևորագույն ֆինանսական աղբյուրներից (ԻՊ-ի եկամուտների այլ աղբյուրներն են՝ սեփական վերահսկողության ներքո գտնվող տարածքների բնակչության, տարանցիկ ճանապարհների հարկումը, պատմամշակութային արժեքների, ռազմագերիների վաճառքը, ստրկավաճառությունը և այլն), այդ իսկ պատճառով կառույցը ոչ միայն լրջագույն պայքար է մղում ածխաջրածնային ենթակառուցվածքները պահպանելու համար, այլև զգալի ներդրումներ է կատարում դրանք արդիականացնելու և զարգացնելու գործում՝ ներգավելով նոր տեխնոլոգիաներ, նաև՝ արտասահմանցի մասնագետների:
Ընդհանուր առմամբ, ներկայում միայն Սիրիայի տարածքում ԻՊ-ի վերհսկողության ներքո են գտնվում 253 նավթահորեր, որոնցից 160-ը գործող վիճակում: Նավթարդյունահանման ցուցանիշներն օրական կտրվածքով հասնում են մինչև 30 հազար բարելի Սիրիայում և 10-20 հազար բարելի՝ Իրաքում:
Իսլամականների նավթի հիմնական գնորդներն են թուրք մաքսանենգները, ովքեր հետագայում վերավաճառում են այն այլ երկրներում: Իրաքյան հետախուզության տվյալներով՝ նավթի որոշ հատվածը վաճառվում է նաև Իրաքի՝ հատկապես քրդերի վերահսկողության ներքո գտնվող շրջաններում. ըստ չճշտված տեղեկատվության՝ նավթի որոշ չափաբաժին էլ իսլամականները վաճառում են սիրիական կառավարությանն, ինչպես նաև հորդանանցի գործակալներին, իսկ որպես սպառման շուկա ծառայում են նաև Հյուսիսային Կորեան, Հարավային Ամերիկայի մի շարք երկրներ: Իսլամականների նավթի մաքսանենգ վաճառքի, մշակման, փոխադրման գործում մասնակցություն ունեն նաև մի շարք ընկերություններ, մասնավորապես՝ թուրք-բրիտանական Genel Energy և քրդական Nokan Group ընկերությունները:
ԻՊ-ի վաճառած նավթի նկատմամբ հետաքրքրությունը պայմանավորված է հիմնականում դրա՝ շուկայականից բավական ցածր դեմփինգային գնի իրողությամբ՝ 1 բարելի համար առավելագույնը 35 դոլար, նվազագույնը՝ մինչև 10 դոլար արժողությամբ:
