Երկօրյա այցով Իսրայելում է գտնվում Էդուարդ Նալբանդյանը: Նա հանդիպել է Իսրայելի պառլամենտի ղեկավարի, ինչպես նաև վարչապետ Նաթանյահուի հետ: Հետաքրքրական է, որ երկու կողմերի պաշտոնական հաղորդագրությունները տարբերվում են իրարից: Իսրայելն ընդգծում է Իրանի ազդեցության մասին քննարկման կարևորությունը, Հայաստանը ՝ չի հիշատակում Իրանի հանգամանքը: Բնական է, որ մեկ-երկու ջերմ հարաբերությունները բավարար չեն, որպեսզի Հայաստանը ոչ միայն հրաժարվի հայ-իրանական հարաբերությունների հեռանկարից, այլև իրեն թույլ տա դիվանագիտական հայտարարություններ, որոնք դուր չեն գա Իրանին:
Բնական է նաև, որ տարածաշրջանային հարցերում Հայաստանն ու Իսրայելը շատ հակասություններ ունեն: Հակասություններ, ոչ միայն Իրանի դերի ընկալման հարցում: Հակասություններ կան նաև Ադրբեջանի հանդեմ վերաբերմունքում: Իսրայելը Ադրբեջանին զենք մատակարարող հիմնական երկրներից է: Հայաստանը պատերազմում է Ադրբեջանի հետ:
Այսքան հակասությունները մեկ տեղում բավարար էին որպեսզի հայ-իսրայելական դիվանագիտական կապը լիներ ցածր մակարդակի վրա: Այսինքն այնպես, ինչպես մի քանի տարի է: Սակայն Իսրայելի նախաձեռնողականությունն այս հարցում ողջունելի է: Նախ բարձրաստիճան պաշտոնյայի երևանյան այցի մակարդակով, հիմա էլ Նալբանդյանի այցի մակարդակով, փորձ է արվում քարացած հարաբերությունները շարժել տեղից:
