«Վերջերս տաքսու վարորդն ինձ ասաց, որ նա Էդուարդ Շարմազանովի կուրսեցին է։ Բնականաբար, նրա խոսակցության թեման էր՝ «էդ ո՜նց եղավ, որ նա դառավ, իսկ ես ոչ մի բան չդառա»։ Անձամբ ես «դառնալու» կամ «չդառնալու» մասին այլ պատկերացում ունեմ։ Ինձ թվում է, որ կարելի է փողոցներ ավլել և ինչ-որ բան «դառնալ» կամ ավելի շուտ՝ «լինել», և կարելի է աշխարհին տիրապետել և ոչ մի բան «չլինել»։ Բայց հասկանում եմ, որ շարքային մարդու գիտակցությունը կողմնորոշված է կյանքում «հաջողություններ ունենալու» չափանիշներով։

 Հավանականությունը, որ դուք Մոսկվայի փողոցներում կհանդիպեք, ասենր, Սերգեյ Նարիշկինի համակուրսեցուն, 100 անգամ ավելի քիչ է, իսկ որ դա տեղի կունենա Բարնաուլում կամ Չելյաբինսկում ՝ գրեթե զրոյական է։ Այդպիսով, Ռուսաստանում դժգոհությունն առ այն, որ մեկը «դարձավ», իսկ ես «չդարձա», շատ ավելի քիչ է։ Այլ է փոքր երկրներում:
