ԱՄՆ-ի սենատում Ադրբեջանում ժողովրդավարության վիճակի մասին լսումներ կանցկացվեն

ԱՄՆ-ի սենատում հոկտեմբերի 28-ին «Մարդու իրավունքներն Ադրբեջանում ընտրությունների նախօրեին» թեմայով լսումներ կանցկացվեն:
Այս մասին, հայտնում է «Թուրան» լրատվական գործակալությունը` նշելով, որ լսումները կազմակերպվել են սենատորներ Մարկ Քիրքի եւ Քրիս Քունսի, ինչպես նաեւ մի շարք միջազգային իրավապաշտպան կազմակերպությունների նախաձեռնությամբ:
Այդ նախաձեռնությունը ծագել է նոյեմբերի 1-ին անցկացվելիք խորհրդարանական ընտրությունների նախօրեին Ադրբեջանում բռնաճնշումները, մարդու իրավունքների խախտումներն ու քաղաքացիական հասարակության նկատմամբ ճնշմումները շարունակվելու պատճառով:
Վերջին մեկ տարում Ադրբեջանի քաղաքացիական հասարակությունը ենթարկվել է աննախադեպ ճնշման եւ վերացման. տասից ավելի լրագրողներ եւ ակտիվիստներ, քաղաքական ու կրոնական գործիչներ հայտնվել են ճաղերի հետեւում:
Նրանցից շատերը ենթարկվել են խոշտանգումների եւ տանջանքների, եւ դա արվել է նրանց վատ առողջական վիճակի պայմաններում, օրինակ` Լեյլա Յունուսի եւ Արիֆ Յունուսի նկատմամբ:
Հետապնդումների եւ ճնշման են ենթարկվել նաեւ Ադրբեջանում օրինապես գործող ամերիկյան ոչ կառավարական կազմակերպություններ, ինչպես նաեւ «Ազատություն» ռադիոկայանի ներկայացուցչությունը, որի աշխատակիցները հետապնդվել եւ ձերբակալվել են, այդ թվում` նաեւ Խադիջա Իսմայիլովան:
Առաջիկա լսումները կոչված են գնահատական եւ պատասխաններ տալու հետեւյալ հարցերին` ի՞նչ են նշանակում նոյեմբերի 1-ի խորհրդարանական ընտրություններն Ադրբեջանում ժողովրդավարության ապագայի համար, մարդու իրավունքների ինչպիսի՞ խախտումներ են կատարվում, ի՞նչ ազդեցություն է գործում ժողովրդավարական արժեքներից Ադրբեջանի ակնհայտ հեռանալը ԱՄՆ-ի հետ նրա գործընկերության վրա, ինչպե՞ս կարելի է պաշտպանել մարդու իրավունքներն Ադրբեջանում եւ պահպանել երկրների միջեւ արժանավայել գործընկերությունը:
Քննարկումներին հրավիրվածների մեջ են Արիֆ եւ Լեյլա Յունուսների դուստրը` Դինարա Յունուսը, Բաքվում ԱՄՆ-ի նախկին դեսպան Ռիչարդ Կոզլարիչը, Ժողովրդավարության ազգային հիմնադրամի (NED) ներկայացուցիչ Միրիամ Լանսկոյը, Freedom House միջազգային իրավապաշտպան կազմակերպության ներկայացուցիչ Տամարա Գրիգորեւան: Լսումների համակարգողն է ԱՄՆ-ի պետքարտուղարի նախկին տեղակալ Դեւիդ Կրամերը:
