ՀՀ ԳԱԱ նախագահության որոշման համաձայն՝ հոկտեմբերի 23-ից Հայոց ցեղասպանության թանգարան – ինստիտուտի գիտական քարտուղար, պ.գ.թ. Գևորգ Վարդանյանը նշանակվել է ՀՑԹԻ տնօրենի ժամանակավոր պաշտոնակատար: Նշենք, որ Հայոց ցեղասպանության թանգարան - ինստիտուտի տնօրեն, պ.գ.դ. Հայկ Դեմոյանը գտնվում է ԱՄՆ-ում՝ Հարվարդի համալսարանի «Ֆուլբրայթ» ծրագրի շրջանակներում:  

Ինչպես հաղորդում է «Արմենպրես»-ը, Գևորգ Վարդանյանը պատմական գիտությունների թեկնածու է, ՀՑԹԻ ավագ գիտաշխատող: Շուրջ երկու տասնյակ գիտական հրապարակումների, նաև մեկ մենագրութան հեղինակ: 

Գիտական հետաքրքրությունների շրջանակն է Հայոց ցեղասպանության պատմություն, ցեղասպանության ժխտում, համեմատական ցեղասպանագիտություն, Օսմանահպատակ հույների պատմություն, Օսմանյան և Ռուսական կայսրությունների համեմատական պատմություն: 

ԿՐԹՈՒԹՅՈՒՆ 

2017 թ.-ից ՀՀ ԳԱԱ Հայոց ցեղասպանության թանգարան-ինստիտուտի դոկտորանտ է: 

2011 թ. ՀՀ ԳԱԱ Արևելագիտության ինստիտուտում պաշտպանել է թեկնածուական ատենախոսությունը: 

2008 - 2011 թթ. ուսանել է ՀՀ ԳԱԱ Հայոց ցեղասպանության թանգարան-ինստիտուտի ասպիրանտուրայում, թեկնածուական ատենախոսության թեման`«Հունական բնակչությունն Օսմանյան կայսրությունում և փոքրասիական աղետը, 1914-1923 թթ.»: 

2003 - 2008 թթ. ուսանել է Հայկական պետական մանկավարժական համալսարանի Պատմության և իրավագիտության բաժնում:

2014 - 2017 թթ. եղել է ՀՀ ԳԱԱ Հայոց ցեղասպանության թանգարան-ինստիտուտի գիտական քարտուղար: 


2012 - 2014 թթ.՝ ՀՀ ԳԱԱ Հայոց ցեղասպանության թանգարան-ինստիտուտի Համեմատական ցեղասպանագիտության բաժնի վարիչ: 

2010 - 2012 թթ.՝ ՀՀ ԳԱԱ Հայոց ցեղասպանության թանգարան-ինստիտուտի Համեմատական ցեղասպանագիտության բաժնի գիտաշխատող: 

Ցեղասպանագետների միջազգային ընկերակցության (International Association of Genocide Scholars), ինչպես նաև «Ցեղասպանագիտական հանդես» գիտական պարբերականի խմբագրակազմի անդամ է: Եղել է Հայոց ցեղասպանության թանգարան-ինստիտուտի նոր ցուցադրությունը ստեղծող թիմի կազմում: Գիտական զեկուցումներով հանդես է եկել հանրապետական և միջազգային բազմաթիվ գիտաժողովներում:
