Տարեսկզբին The Economist Intelligence Unit-ը կազմեց 2015թ. անվտանգ քաղաքների անվտանգության ինդեքսը, որտեղ ներառվել էր 50 մեգապոլիս: Ցուցակի կազմման ժամանակ հաշվի էր առնվել կյանքի միջին շարունակականությունը, ենթակառուցվածքների վիճակը, բնակիչների անվտանգությունը:
Հետաքրքիր է, որ եվրոպական մայրաքաղաքները գրեթե (բացառություն են կազմում Լոնդոնը, Բարսելոնը, Ամստերդամն ու Ստոկհոլմն ու Ցյուրիխը) չեն հայտնվել անգամ առաջին քսանյակում:
Ինչ վերբերում է Ինդեքսի առաջատարներին, ապա տասնյակը եզրափակում է Նյու Յորքը, ավելի վերևում տեղավորվել են Կանադայի, Շվեյցարիայի, Ավստրալիայի երկրները: Մելբուռնը հայտնվել է 9-րդ հորիզոնականում, Տորոնտոն՝ 8-րդում, Ցյուրիխը՝ 7-ում, Սիդնեյը՝ 6-րդում:
Past.am-ը ներկայացնում է ամենաանվտանգ երկրների թոփ-5-յակը.

Այստեղ անգամ չկա «վտանգավոր թաղամաս» հասկացությունը: Ամստերդամը վայելում է այնպիսի քաղաքի համբավ, որտեղ կարելի է ամեն ինչ՝ սկսած օրինական մարմնավաճառությունից:
Ստոկհոլմ
Ստոկհոլմն ունի խաղաղ ռիթմ, այստեղ հաճախ են գալիս մյուս մայրաքաղաքների բնակիչները, հատկապես երեխաներ ունենալուց հետո: Պատճառն այն է, որ Ստոկհոլմը ունի անձնական ապահովության ամենաբարձր մակարդակը ողջ Եվրոպայում:
Ասիական «եռյակ»
Աշխարհի ամենաանվտանգ քաղաքների առաջին եռյակը ճապոնական Օսական, Տոկիոն ու Սինգապուրն են:
Առավել շատ միավորներ է հավաքել Ճապոնիայի մայրաքաղաքը: Նրան բաժին է ընկել առաջին տեղը: Սակայն անձնական անվտանգության առումով առաջատարը Սինգապուրն է, ապա Օսական:
Հարավարևելյան Ասիայի երկրները ունեն խիստ կանոններ, տուգանքների ու պատիժների խիստ համակարգ: Այնպիսի պատիժ, ինչպիսին է ծխախոտի ծխուկը նետելու համար սահմանված 500 դոլար պատիժը, Սինգապուրը վերածել են իսկական դրախտի, որտեղ չկա ռասիզմ ու անհանդուրժողականություն:
