 Կատալոնիայի ժեներալիտատի (կառավարության) նախագահ Կառլես Պուչդեմոնը հոկտեմբերի 1-ին քվեարկել է Իսպանիայից Կատալոնիայի անկախության հանրաքվեում, տեղեկացնում է El Pais թերթը։

Ինչպես հաղորդում է «Արմենպրես»-ը՝ վկայակոչելով «Ինտերֆաքս»-ը, ինչպես հստակեցնում են տեղական ԶԼՄ-ները, Պուչդեմոնը քվեարկել է ոչ այն ընտրատեղամասում, որտեղ գրանցված էր, այլ մեկ ուրիշ տեղամասում։

Ավելի վաղ իսպանական «Վանգուարդիա» թերթի համացանցային կայքը հայտնել է, որ Իսպանիա քաղաքացիական գվարդիան խոչընդոտում է Ժիրոնա քաղաքի այն ընտրատեղամասի աշխատանքին, որտեղ ի սկզբանե պետք է քվեարկեր Պուչդեմոնը։

Իսպանիայի ոստիկանության աշխատակիցները քվեատուփեր են առգրավում ընտրատեղամասերում, որտեղ պետք է անցնի Իսպանիայից Կատալոնիայի անկախացման հանրաքվեն, որը Մադրիդը անօրինական է համարում, հայտնւոմ են արևմտյան ԶԼՄ-ները՝ վկայակոչելով Իսպանիայի ներքին գործերի նախարարությունը։

Իսպանիայի ՆԳՆ-ն «Թվիթեր»-ի իր միկրոբլոգում գրել է, որ ոստիկանության սպաները շարունակում են ծավալումը կատալոնւայում։

Միաժամանակ, տեղական ԶԼՄ-ները հաղորդում են տարբեր դեպքերի մասին, երբ ոստիկանությունը խոչընդոտել է բնակիչների քվեարկությանը կամ ուժով ճանապարհ է հարթել դեպի ընտրատեղամասեր։

Կատալոնիայում ապրում է Իսպանիայի բնակչության մոտ 16%-ը։ Իսպանիայից արտահանման մոտ 25,6%-ը բաժին է ընկնում Կատալոնիայում արտադրված ապրանքներին։ Իսպանիայի ՀՆԱ-ի մոտ 19%-ն ապահովում է հենց այս ինքնավարությունը։ Կատալոնիա է ուղղվում օտարերկրյա ներդրումների 20,7%-ը։ Կատալոնիայի պարտքը հավասար է ՀՆԱ-ի  35,3%-ին։
