Կարապետյանի հարվածը Սարգսյանին

Հայաստան-Սփյուռք համաժողովի ընթացքում պատասխանելով սփյուռքահայերից մեկի այն հարցին, թե կուզենա մնալ վարչապետ Կարապետյանը հետագայում, Կարապետյանը պատասխանեց ՝ այո: Իսկ այնուհետ անդրադառնալով այն հարցին, թե շատերը արդեն անուններ են հնչեցնում, նշեց, որ մասնավոր դեպքերին պետք չէ ուշադրություն դարձնել ու պետք է սպասել, թե ինչ կորոշի կուսակցությունը:
Մանսավոր դեպքեր ասելով Կարապետյանը նկատի ունի ՀՀԿ գրեթե ողջ վերնախավին, որոնք այս կամ այն կերպ խոսել են Սերժ Սարգսյանի անփոխարինելի լինելու մասին: Եվ եթե պիտի այս վերնախավի կարծիքը չորոշի Սարգսյանի վարչապետ լինելը, ապա ինչպես պիտի կուսակցությունում որոշեն ընդհանրապես վարչապետի հարցը: Ովքեր են որոշելու այդ հարցը, եթե ոչ ՀՀԿ վերնախավը ներկայացնող «մասնավոր դեպքերը»:
Միաժամանակ, Կարապետյանը երիցս վերահաստատում է իր ցանկությունը մնալ վարչապետ: Իսկ մնալ նշանակում է շարունակել լինել վարչապետ նաև 2018թ. ապրիլից հետո, երբ վարչապետ լինել նշանակելու է լինել թիվ 1 քաղաքական գործիչը: Փաստացի Կարապետյանը հայտարարում է, որ պատրաստ է մտնել պայքարի մեջ իշխանության համար ու կոչ անում սպասել կուսակցության որոշմանը:
