Հանրության դատին հանձնվեց «Հայ քարտեզագրության պատմությունը մինչև 1918 թ.» գրքի հայերեն հրատարակությունը

Աշխարհագրագետ և քարտեզագիր Ռուբեն Գալչյանի «Հայ քարտեզագրության պատմությունը մինչև 1918 թ.» գրքի հայերեն հրատարակությունը ներկայացվել է հանրության դատին: Հրատարակության շնորհանդեսը կայացավ Մեսրոպ Մաշտոցի անվան Մատենադարանում: Շնորհանդեսին ներկա էին Մատենադարանի տնօրենի պաշտոնակատար Վահան Տեր-Ղևոնդյանը, հեղինակի ընկերները, հարազատները և այլք:
Բացման խոսքով հանդես եկավ Մատենադարանի տնօրենի պաշտոնակատար Վահան Տեր-Ղևոնդյանը` խոսելով Ռուբեն Գալչյանի և նրա գործունեության մասին: «Պարոն Գալչյանը մեզ ծանոթ է թե իբրև կոլեկցիոներ, թե իբրև հետազոտող և թե իբրև բարերար: Նա վերջին մեկ ու կես տասնյամյակում բավական բեղուն գործունեություն է ծավալել հատկապես հայ քարտեզագրության գործում` նպաստելով դրա հանրայնացմանն ու տարածմանը»,-«Արմենպրես»-ի փոխանցմամբ՝ ասաց Ղևոնդյանը:
ՀՀ ԳԱԱ Պատմության ինստիտուտի տնօրեն Աշոտ Մելքոնյանը նշեց, որ Ռուբեն Գալչյանը բազմաթիվ աշխատություններ է հրատարակել աշխարհին ապացուցելու կամ ևս մեկ անգամ պարզապես հիշեցնելու, որ մենք աշխարհի քարտեզներում կանք ի սկզբանե: «Եվ հիմա փոխեց նաև մոտեցումը. համաշխարհային քարտեզագրության մեջ էլ մենք կանք և աշխարհը կա մեր քարտեզագրության մեջ: Տեսնում ես Ամերիկան, տեսնում ես Աֆրիկան, Եվրոպան և դրանց կողքին՝ Բայազետի գավառը, Երզնկայի գավառը»,- նշեց Աշոտ Մելքոնյանը:
Գրքի հեղինակ Ռուբեն Գալչյանը, խոսելով քարտեզի մասին, ասաց, որ այն յուրահատուկ փաստաթուղթ է, որը մեկ հայացքով տալիս է անհրաժեշտ տեղեկատվություն: «Մեզ՝ հայերիս համար քարտեզը այլ կարևորություն ունի և այն միայն ճանապարհորդելով չի սահմանափակվում: Մեզ մոտ քարտեզի առկայության պատճառը ոչ միայն ուղղություն կամ տեղ գտնելն է, այլ հոգեբանական և հաճախ ենթագիտակցական մի ներքին մղում, որն իր մեջ պահում է նախկինում ունեցածը, որն այսօր կորցրել ենք: Այսպիոսով, այդ քարտեզը մեր հիշողության երաշխավորն է»,-հավելեց նա:
Շնորհանդեսի ավարտին Մատենադարանի տնօրենի պաշտոնակատար Վահան Տեր-Ղևոնդյանը, իբրև երախտիքի նշան, Ռուբեն Գալչյանին հանձնեց Մատենադարանի «Սուրբ Մեսրոպ Մաշտոց» հուշամեդալ:
