Հարավային Կորեայի նախագահ Մուն Ջեինը բացառել է երկրում միջուկային զենքի տեղակայման հնարավորությունը, նախազգուշացնելով, որ դա կարող է հանգեցնել միջուկային սպառազինությունների մրցավազքի՝ Ասիայի հյուսիս- արեւելքում։
«Ես համամիտ չեմ այն հարցում, որ Հյուսիսային Կորեային անհրաժեշտ է զարգացնել սեփական միջուկային զենք կամ տեղակայել մարտավարական միջուկային զենք՝ Հյուսիսի կողմից սպառնալիքի կապակցությամբ»,- ասել է նա CNN-ին տված հարցազրույցում։ Այդուհանդերձ, նա նշել է, որ Սեուլին անհրաժեշտ է զարգացնել սեփական ռազմական հնարավորությունները։ «Պատասխանելով Հյուսիսային Կորեային սեփական միջուկային զենքի ձեռքբերոււմով, մենք չենք պահպանի խաղաղություն Կորեական թերակղզում, դա կարող է միջուկային սպառազինությունների մրցավազքի հանգեցնել»,- ասել է նա։
Մուն Ջեինը Նյու Յորք է ժամանելու՝ ՄԱԿ ԳՎ-ին մասնակցելու համար։ Նրա այցելությունն անցնելու է Սեուլի ու Վաշինգթոնի միջեւ աճող տարաձայնությունների ֆոնին այն բանից հետո, երբ Դոնալդ Թրամփը Ջեինին մեղադրել է Փհենյանին հանգստացնելու փորձի մեջ։
Ջեինի խոսքով՝ Թրամփի ասածը պետք չէ նեղ համատեքստում ընկալել։ «Ես կարծում եմ, որ նախագահ Թրամփը դրանով ուզում էր ասել, որ ոչ միայն Հարավային Կորեան ու ԱՄՆ-ն, այլեւ Ռուսաստանն ու Չինաստնը պետք է վճռական պատասխանեն Հյուսիսային Կորեայի միջուկային սադրանքներին»,- ասել է նա։ Նրա խոսքով՝ հենց քանի որ ԱՄՆ-ն ու Հարավային Կորեան հետեւում են պատժամիջոցների ու զորավարժությունների ուղուն, բանակցությունների ժամանակը դեռ չի ավարտվել։ «Այդ ամենը պատշաճ պայմաններ է ստեղծում երկխոսության համար»,- շեշտել է Ջեինը։ Նա հավելել է, որ ՄԱԿ-ի նոր կոշտ պատժամիջոցները պետք է իրականացվեն։ «Եթե Ռուսաստանն ու Չինաստանը համաձայնեն՝ կարծում եմ, մենք կկարողանանք արգելել նաեւ ոչ պաշտոնական առեւտուրը»
Նրա խոսքով՝ Հյուսիսային Կորեան ուզում է ճանաչվել որպես միջուկային գերտերություն, որպեսզի բանակցությունների սեղանի շուրջ նստեն ԱՄՆ-ի հետ։ «Բայց միջազգային համայնքը երբեք չի ընդունի միջուկային Հյուսիսային Կորեային, մասնավորապես իմ երկիրը երբեք չի ընդունի»։
