Լուսադեմին Հայաստանի հավաքականի բռնցքամարտիկներ Հովհաննես Բաչկովը (64 կգ քաշային կարգ) և Կարեն Տոնականյանը (60 կգ) Համբուրգում անցկացված աշխարհի առաջնությունից վերադարձել են Երևան:
Աշխարհի առաջնության բրոնզե մեդալակիր Հովհաննես Բաչկովը ՀԱՕԿ լրատվականին ասել է հետևյալը.
«Այս անգամ ոսկի նվաճել չհաջողվեց: Բավարարվեցի բրոնզով: Բայց ամեն ինչ կանենք, որպեսզի առաջ գնանք: Կուբացու հետ ավելի շատ մենամարտում էի կամքի ուժով, քանի որ ընթացքում զգում էի, թե որքան հոգնածություն կար մեջս: Չէի հասցրել վերականգնվել:
Սա արդարանալու համար չեմ ասում: Եվրոպայի առաջնությունից շատ քիչ ժամանակ էր անցել և չէի հասցրել վերականգնվել: Մոնղոլ և ղազախ մրցակիցներիս հետ էլ ավելի շատ էներգիա էի ծախսել: Սրանք կապված են միմյանց հետ: Ի վերջո, օրգանիզմի հետ գործ ունենք: Այդ մենամարտում կուբացին իրեն ավելի լավ էր զգում»:
Կարեն Տոնականյանն ավելի քչախոս էր: Նա դժգոհ է իր մասնակցությունից.
«Չստացվեց: Աշխարհի առաջնությունում թույլ բռնցքամարտիկներ չկան, բոլորն էլ գալիս են վարկանիշով՝ ընտրված մարզիկներ են: Թե ինչը և ինչու չստացվեց, մարզիչների հետ կվերլուծենք և կաշխատենք հետագայում թույլ տրված սխալները չկրկնել», - ասել է նա:
