Սիրիայում անվտանգության գոտիների վերաբեյալ հերթական բանակցություններից հետ, որոնք տեղի են ունեցել Աստանայում, Թուրքիան որոշել է սկսել «Եփրատի վահան» ռազմական գործողությունների երկրորդ փուլը:
Այս մասին, ինչպես հաղորդում է «Արմենպրես»-ը, հայտնում է թուրքական «Սաբահ» պարբերականը:
«Սաբահ»-ի փոխանցմամբ` այս փուլում Թուրքիան գործելու է Իրանի Իսլամական Հանրապետության և Ռուսաստանի Դաշնության հետ համատեղ, ներառյալ հետախուզության ոլորտը:
Հղում անելով թուրքական ԶԼՄ-ներին՝ «Արմենպրես»-ը օգոստոսի 18-ին հաղորդել էր, որ Ռուսաստանը, Թուրքիան և Իրանը պատրաստվում են Սիրիայի հյուսիսում համատեղ ռազմական գործողություններ իրականացնել:

Թուրքիան, Ռուսաստանը և Իրանը 2017-ի մայիսի 3-ին Աստանայում տեղի ունեցած սիրիական հակամարտության կարգավորման շուրջ բանակցությունների ժամանակ հուշագիր են ստորագրել: Հուշագրի կետերի համաձայն՝ 3 երկրները, ստանձնելով հրադադարի երաշխավորների դեր, Սիրիայում պետք է ստեղծեն անվտանգության գոտիներ:
