Շուրջ երկու տասնամյանկից ավելի է, մեր կրթական համակարգը գտնվում է սթրեսի մեջ: Առաջին հարվածը առաջին դասարանցիների այբբենարնանը փոխելն ու դրա փոխարեն խաչբառներով ու անհասկանալի բովանդակությամբ, այսպես ասած՝ մոդեռն այբբենարան հրամցնելն էր:90-ականների կեսերին, ՀՀ ԿԳՆ-ից հրաման էր արձակվել, որ հին, խորհրդային մնացորդ համարվող, այդ փտած գրքով երեխաներին տառեր չսովորեցնեն:

Բոլորը ժպտում էին, բոլորը ուրախ էին և դա անկախ Հայաստանի առաջին «դասագրքերից» էր, որը թողարկվել էր միջազգային կազմակերպությունների փողերով: Բայց այդ ժպիտը տևեց ընդամենը մի քանի օր, երբ բոլորը հասկացան, որ եթե հույսները դնեն այդ այբբենարան կոչվող գրկույկի վրա, ապա երեխաները, հաստատ, անգրագետ կմնան: Դպրոցների տարրական դասարանների ուսուցիչներն այդ արհավիրքից փրկելու համար ծնողներին թաքուն հասկացրեցին, որ այնուամենայնիվ ձեռք բերեն խորհրդային տարիների գրքերը, բայց հանկարծ դպրոց չբերեն,որ ոչ ոք չիմանա: Պարզապես տանը, դպրոցից թաքուն, երեխաներին տառերը և փոքրիկ տեքստերը սովորեցնեն:Այդ մասին գիտեին բոլորը, բայց ձև էին անում, թե ոչինչ չգիտեն: Այն տարիներին տասնյակ լեզուներ իմացող նախագահ ունեցող երկրում, որտեղ թվում էր թե ամեն ինչ պետք է որ հիմնված լիներ գիտելիքի վրա, առաջին ամոթն այն ժամանկ եղավ, երբ պարզվեց, որ նոր սերնդի համար գրված դասագրքերը ոչ միայն գիրք չեն, այլև գրկույկներ են՝ բազում սխալներով ու տառասխալներով: Ու այդ օրից սկսվեց մեր երկրի կրթական համակարգի «օպտիմալացումը»:

Օպտիմալացման ենթարկվեցին կրթության ոլորտին վերաբերող բոլոր «տողերն» ու տողատակերը, որը մինչ օրս դեռ չի ավարտվել: Ու ինչքան տարիներն առաջ շարժվեցին, այնքան խնդիրը գնալով խորացավ: Եվ ամեն անգամ այս կամ այն հրամանն արձակելուց հետո պարզ դարձավ, որ ավելի շուտ այդ համակարգը հիմնովին ոչնչացնելու պլան է եղել, որը ցավոք, մինչ օրս դեռ չի ավարտվել:
