Ականավոր արձակագիր, թատերագիր, սցենարիստ և թարգմանիչ Պերճ Զեյթունցյանի հոգեհանգիստը տեղի կունենա օգոստոսի 23-ին՝ ժամը 18։00-20։00-ն, Կոնդի Ս. Հովհաննես եկեղեցում, վերջին հրաժեշտը՝ օգոստոսի 24-ին՝ Կամերային երաժշտության տանը, ժամը 12։00-13։30-ը։ Այս մասին տեղեկացրին ՀՀ Մշակույթի նախարարությունից:

Պերճ Զեյթունցյանը մահացել է օգոստոսի 21-ի առավոտյան՝ երկարատև, ծանր հիվանդությունից հետո։ Նշանավոր գրողին վերջին հրաժեշտը կազմակերպելու համար ստեղծվել է կառավարական հանձնաժողով՝ ՀՀ մշակույթի նախարար Արմեն Ամիրյանի գլխավորությամբ։
Պերճ Արմենակի Զեյթունցյանը ծնվել է 1938թ. հուլիսի 18-ին, Ալեքսանդրիա քաղաքում (Եգիպտոս)։ 1948թ. ընտանիքի հետ ներգաղթել է Խորհրդային Հայաստան։ Ավարտել է Պյատիգորսկի (ՌՍՖՍՀ) հեռակա մանկավարժական ինստիտուտը, ապա Մոսկվայում՝ բարձրագույն սցենարական դասընթացները։ Աշխատել է «Հայֆիլմ» կինոստուդիայում որպես խմբագրական կոլեգիայի գլխավոր խմբագիր, ՀԳՄ-ում՝ վարչության քարտուղար, «Պիոներ» մանկապատանեկան ամսագրում՝ գլխավոր խմբագիր, ՀՀ մշակույթի առաջին նախարար։

Հեղինակ է ժողովրդականություն վայելող բազմաթիվ վեպերի, թատերգությունների, թարգմանությունների։ Նրա թատերգությունները երկար տարիներ բեմադրվել են և այժմ էլ հաջողությամբ ներկայացվում են Երևանի Գ. Սունդուկյանի անվան ազգային և Հր. Ղափլանյանի անվան դրամատիկական թատրոններում։ Պերճ Զեյթունցյանի ստեղծագործությունները թարգմանվել, առանձին գրքերով լույս են տեսել ֆրանսերեն, անգլերեն, ռուսերեն, արաբերեն, չեխերեն, հունգարերեն և այլ օտար լեզուներով։ Անգլերենից թարգմանել, առաջին անգամ հայ ընթերցողին մայրենի լեզվով ներկայացրել է ժամանակակից համբավավոր հեղինակների։ Պ. Զեյթունցյանը Հռոմի արվեստների և հասարակական գիտությունների «Թիբերինա» ակադեմիայի պատվավոր անդամ էր։

Շուրջ 35 գրքի հեղինակ է։ Նրա երկերից են՝ «Արշակ Երկրորդ», «Ոտքի′, դատարանն է գալիս», «Ամենատխուր մարդը», «Մեծ լռություն և այլն։ Թարգմանել է Էռնեստ Հեմինգուեյի «Հրաժեշտ զենքին», «Կիլիմանջարոյի ձյուները», Գրեհեմ Գրենի «Խաղաղ ամերիկացին», Էրսքին Քոլդուելի «Տաք գետը» և այլն։

«Աստվածների կանչը» պիեսի համար արժանացել է ՀՍՍՀ պետական մրցանակի, «Խոր Վիրապ» պիեսի համար՝ Գրական պետական մրցանակի։ Պերճ Զեյթունցյանին շնորհվել են «Մեսրոպ Մաշտոց» շքանշան, ՀՀ մշակույթի վաստակավոր գործչի և «Երևանի պատվավոր քաղաքացի» կոչումներ և այլ պարգևներ։
