Բարսելոնում տեղի ունեցած ահաբեկչությունն ու դրան հաջորդած մեկ երկու փոքր ահաբեկչական ակտերը կրկին ցնցեցին Եվրոպան: Ահաբեկիչների կազմակերպած ցանցը բացահայտվեց ու վնասազերծվեց, բայց դրանից սարսափը չվերացավ: Հերթական անգամ Հին մայրցամաքը ցնցվեց ռադիկալ իսլամիզմի ձեռքերով: 

Ահաբեկչություն-վշտակցում անվերջ թվացող շղթան, սակայն, բացի էմոցիոնալ մասից ունի նաև քաղաքական մաս: Ահաբեկիչները հայտնվում են ոչ միայն այնտեղ որտեղ կարողանում են, այլ այն տեղերում, որտեղ մեսիջ ունեն փոխանցելու: Իսկ մեսիջը պարզ է՝ Իսլամական պետությունն ու ԴԱԻՇ-ը փորձում են ուղիղ գործողությունների մեջ ներքաշել եվրոպական պետություններին, իսկ եվրոպական պետությունները համառորեն հրաժարվում են անել դա: Նրանք չեն պատրաստվում կտրուկ փոխել միգրացիոն քաղաքականությունը, չեն պատրաստվում հրաժարվել մուլտիկուլտուրալիզմից, չեն պատրաստվում պատասխան գործողությունների դիմել:

Լիբիական և իրաքյան պատմություններից հետո եվրոպական վերնախավը սխալ դասեր է քաղել: Լիվկիդացնելով բռնապետերին և փոխարենը ստանալով ավելի մեծ քաոս, նրանք հիմա հրաժարվում են ներգրավվել ուղղակի գործողությունների մեջ և պատասխան տալ սեփաան սխալների համար: 

Տեղի ունեցածը շատ ցավալի է: Բայց այդպես լինելու է այնքան ժամանակ, քանի դեռ եվրոպական աշխարհամասի առաջատար երկրները չեն վերանայել իրենց քաղաքականությունը, չեն փոխել իրերի ընկալման միագիծ տրամաբանությունը, երբ պարզապես մեկի բռնապետ լինեը բավարար է առանց հետևանքները հաշվի առնեու նրան լիկվիդացնելու համար:
